China’s MiniMax Unveils Video-01: A Text-to-Video AI Model Poised to Rival OpenAI’s Sora
China's artificial intelligence powerhouse, MiniMax, has unveiled a text-to-video creation model, positioning itself as a competitor to OpenAI’s Sora. Video-01 is the initial version of the firm’s tool resembling Sora, with anticipated future enhancements to allow users to produce videos from pictures.
Video-01 lets a user input a text description to generate a video that lasts up to six seconds. The entire procedure, from entering the text to creating the video, takes roughly two minutes.
During the event, Yan Junjie, the founder and CEO of MiniMax, announced that video-01 is their company's initial version of the video creation tool. He further highlighted that upcoming advancements will allow users to create videos using images and also edit them, as per reports from local news outlets.
