China’s AI Powerhouse MiniMax Unveils Video-01: A Text-to-Video Tool Set to Rival OpenAI’s Sora
China's artificial intelligence powerhouse, MiniMax, has unveiled a text-to-video creation model, set to compete with OpenAI's Sora. Video-01, the initial version of their tool akin to Sora, is anticipated to be updated in the future to allow users to create videos using images.
Video-01 allows a user to input a textual description to produce a video of up to six seconds long. The procedure, from prompting the text to creating a video, typically takes around two minutes.
At the event, Yan Junjie, the founder and CEO of MiniMax, announced that video-01 is the initial version of the company's video creation tool. He highlighted that upcoming enhancements would allow users to produce videos from pictures and edit them, as stated in local news sources.
