Audi Q5 (2024) Preview: Dimensional Insight and Rival Analysis
The upcoming Audi Q5 (2024) at a Glance: Dimensions Detailed
Similar to its close cousin the A5, the new Q5 measures approximately 4.70 meters in length.
The third iteration of the Audi Q5 was unveiled in August 2024. Both in appearance and technology, it is closely aligned with the also recently introduced Audi A5, which replaces the A4 series. The Q5 retains its name as it has historically featured an odd number designation, which is now intended for combustion engine models.
As usual, this column sheds light on its size in comparison to its main rivals, which include recently updated models such as the new BMW X3 and the Mercedes GLC.
The latest edition of the Audi Q5, set to release in 2024, stretches to a length of 4.72 meters, spans a width of 1.90 meters, and stands at a height of 1.65 meters, supported by a substantial wheelbase measuring 2.82 meters. It sizes up well within the upper echelons of the D-segment category while maintaining a moderate length that promises to facilitate easy maneuvering in urban settings.

Audi Q5 (2024): Spaciousness and Cargo Area
As expected from a premium mid-size SUV, the interior offers ample space, which extends to the rear passengers as well. Indeed, the new Q5 provides a very comfortable amount of room, aided by features such as an adjustable rear seat bench that can increase or decrease legroom and cargo space as needed.
Regarding cargo capacity: Audi's latest SUV boasts a cargo space of 520 liters when set up with five seats. This figure can expand to 1,470 liters once the seats are folded down. As for the anticipated plug-in hybrid model expected in 2025, the company has yet to release any specifications.
Audi Q5 (2024), the trunk space
The upcoming 2024 Audi Q5 is set to face stiff competition from its traditional German rivals in the same size category, particularly the BMW X3 and the Mercedes GLC, both of which are slated for updates in 2023 and 2024.
Beyond Germany's borders, alternative models have been significant in this market for years, such as the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Mazda CX-60, and Volvo XC60. These vehicles offer a comparable trunk size and dimensions to the SUV from Ingolstadt.
