Audi A3 allstreet (2025): Der neue Plug-in-Hybrid-König mit Mega-Reichweite und persönlichem Touch

The 2025 Audi A3 allstreet: Introducing the New Plug-in Hybrid with an Impressive Range
The 40 TFSI-e features an extra-large battery and DC fast-charging capabilities, but lacks all-wheel drive
Didn't Audi just announce they were going to abandon their perplexing and rather pointless naming conventions? Well, it seems that's not entirely the case just yet. Attention, readers, the latest A3 allstreet 40 TFSI-e is here. Beneath this enigmatic title lies Audi's elevated compact class vehicle, now equipped with a new plug-in hybrid system.
The latter made its first appearance last month in the A3 Sportback, boasting an impressive maximum electric range that at first glance seems almost unbelievable. Are we really talking about "nearly 140 kilometers per charge in the WLTP cycle"? Is that possible? In a compact hatchback?
It seems this is possible. The significant contribution likely comes from the XL high-voltage battery, which has a gross capacity of 25.7 kWh (19.7 kWh usable). It incorporates 96 prismatic cells, each with a charge capacity of 73 ampere-hours.
The Softroader is powered by a turbocharged 1.5 TFSI evo2 gasoline engine delivering 150 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, alongside an electric motor producing 85 kW and 330 Nm. Together, the combustion engine and the permanent magnet synchronous motor generate a combined output of 150 kW (204 horsepower) and 350 Nm of torque. The PHEV-allstreet can reach a top speed of 225 km/h and can drive up to 140 km/h using only electric power. The vehicle features a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. Despite the "Allstreet" name, it does not have all-wheel drive.
The vehicle comes equipped with a full range of operational options, including modes for pure electric driving, hybrid operation, or maintaining the battery's charge for later use of electric mode. Additionally, the PHEV-allstreet is capable of both coasting and regenerative braking, with the intensity of regeneration controllable via steering wheel paddles. The standard Audi Virtual Cockpit display keeps you informed of your current driving statistics, such as power usage, drive mode, battery charge level, and range. Furthermore, the infotainment screen provides a visualization of the energy transfers.
Another electric highlight of the Hybrid-A3 allstreet is its ability to support DC fast charging up to 50 kW. This feature allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes. It also offers AC charging at a maximum of 11 kW, which can fully charge the vehicle in 2.5 hours.
Similar to the A3 allstreet that runs solely on a combustion engine, the PHEV stands 15 millimeters taller than the standard A3 Sportback. When combined with the increased tire size (17-inch wheels come as standard), there's an additional 30 millimeters of ground clearance. Additionally, the model-specific cladding gives the wheel arches a more robust appearance.

Audi from Ingolstadt promises an "excellent equilibrium of ride comfort and agility" for their crossover-style A3. The unique spring/shock tuning of the elevated Allstreet has been further refined for the plug-in hybrid model. This adjustment was necessary, particularly because the battery adds additional weight to the vehicle and its position under the rear seat bench alters the distribution of weight. The balance now stands at 55:45. For those interested, there's an optional progressive steering with variable ratio available for an extra charge, which is said to be more responsive.
The starting price for the Electric Range King is set at 46,000 Euros, marking a 1,800 Euro increase over the standard A3 Sportback equipped with the same powertrain. Unlike its allstreet counterparts that don't feature a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) system, this model comes standard with the Audi Drive Select driving modes system and a stationary heating system. Orders can be placed starting from mid-November.

Polestar Pares Down: 2025 Model Year Sees the End of Best-Driving, Highest-Range Variants
The 2025 lineup for the Polestar 2 will be limited to a single model, eliminating the more affordable options that offered a longer driving range.
Car and Driver were the first to report that the 2025 Polestar 2 will exclusively come in the Performance Pack model. This update eliminates the previous entry-level single-motor variant and the standard dual-motor option.
2025 Model of Polestar 2
The refreshed 2024 version of the Polestar 2, which transitioned to rear-wheel drive from its previous front-wheel drive in the single-motor variant, boasted the highest range of 320 miles as per EPA estimates, drawing power from an 82-kwh battery. The all-wheel drive versions, on the other hand, came with a slightly smaller 78-kwh battery and offered a maximum range of 276 miles, excluding the Performance Pack. The Performance Pack-equipped models had a lower range of 247 miles for the same year. As a result, it's expected that the Polestar 2's range will experience a significant decrease for the year 2025.
The Performance Pack comes with hand-adjustable Öhlins shocks, enhanced brake systems, and high-performance Continental SportContact 6 tires. However, upon testing the 2024 Polestar 2 range, it was observed that it lacked the harmony and comfort found in the rear-wheel drive model. Looking ahead to 2025, the power is set to increase to 469 hp, matching the Performance Pack versions produced before 2024, and it will maintain the elevated 546 lb-ft of torque established in that year.
Upcoming 2025 Model of Polestar
The 2025 Polestar 2 now includes the Climate and Plus Packs as standard features, along with the previously standard Performance Pack and Pilot Pack for all-wheel drive vehicles from 2024. However, these enhancements raise the price to $66,200, which is significantly higher than the $51,300 starting price of the 2024 single-motor version.
Green Car Reports made contact with Polestar to get their input and received confirmation that the company plans to expand its lineup to include three models, with the introduction of the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4.

Volkswagen Amplifies Rivian Investment to $5.8 Billion, Igniting Joint Tech Venture
Volkswagen increases its investment in Rivian to $5.8 billion as the two companies initiate their collaborative project, the Rivian and VW Group Technology joint venture, which was previously declared.
In June, the collaboration between the two companies was made public, revealing that the VW Group would be investing $5 billion over several years. This investment is in return for the opportunity to utilize Rivian's electric vehicle platform and their proficiency in software engineering.
On Tuesday, it was disclosed that Volkswagen Group and Rivian are ramping up their investment to a whopping $5.8 billion. This surge in funding stems from Volkswagen accelerating its planned future investments and altering the initial agreement's framework, according to the firms involved.
Rivian's Chief Executive RJ Scaringe (to the left) alongside Volkswagen Group's Chief Executive Oliver Blume
The revised agreement stipulates that there will be an investment of $1.3 billion in developing software. Additionally, the VW Group plans to allocate $3.5 billion to acquire Rivian stock, and there is a provision for a possible loan of $1 billion from VW to Rivian.
The collaborative enterprise is set to commence its activities on November 13, with the primary aim of creating and providing both firms with electrical frameworks and software solutions. This initiative will encompass elements such as network components and software layers that facilitate remote updates throughout a vehicle's entire lifespan, as highlighted in a recent financial stakeholders' meeting.
During the same press event, both firms announced that the initial car to feature their collaborative technology will be the 2026 Rivian R2 crossover. Volkswagen's extra financial contribution could be pivotal in successfully launching this more affordable vehicle, as well as supporting the progression of the R3, which has a hatchback design, and a number of other models that Rivian has hinted at.
The electrical framework and software systems of Rivian and the Volkswagen Group.
The Volkswagen Group has indicated that a selection of models from its Volkswagen line is expected to be the initial batch to incorporate the freshly developed systems by 2027. This will precede the implementation in Audi models and the newly introduced Scout brand. The CEO of VW Group, Oliver Blume, mentioned that the technology might also be integrated into some of the sports car models, though no additional information was given.
The collaborative project is set to start operations in Silicon Valley with approximately 1,000 engineering staff. Plans are in place to expand with three more locations across the United States and Europe shortly.
The two firms indicated their willingness to explore further partnerships in various sectors including battery technology, entire car frameworks, and shared manufacturing endeavors, although they clarified these possibilities fall beyond the boundaries of their existing joint enterprise. Furthermore, it seems that Rivian will not be participating in the creation of Volkswagen Group's Scalable Systems Platform (SSP) designed for upcoming electric vehicles, which, as per a July report, is experiencing postponements due to complications with its software.

CATL Signals Interest in US Battery Plant Expansion Amidst Trump Administration’s Trade Policies
CATL, a Chinese battery manufacturer, is willing to establish a factory in the United States if given the green light by President-elect Trump's government, the company's creator mentioned during a recent discussion.
In a recent interview with Reuters that came out on Wednesday, Robin Zeng mentioned, "At first, our efforts to make investments in the U.S. were rejected by the U.S. authorities," adding, "Personally, I maintain a very open attitude."
Up to this point, CATL has restricted its operations in the U.S. to agreements that allow car manufacturers to use its technology. In 2023, Ford revealed plans for a new battery facility in Michigan dedicated to crafting lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. Ford has emphasized that these batteries are essential for making electric vehicles more affordable. The battery cells manufactured at this site will utilize technology from CATL, although Ford will maintain ownership of the plant. According to a report from April, General Motors could be pursuing an arrangement akin to Ford's with CATL.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E and the F-150 Lightning will be equipped with CATL's lithium iron phosphate (LFP
Prior to Trump initiating a trade conflict with China in 2017, during his initial term, the existing agreement was already in jeopardy, despite him not being re-elected for a subsequent term yet.
According to the current rules set by President Biden's team, electric vehicles that contain batteries produced in China are ineligible for the government's electric vehicle tax incentive. This also applies to vehicles produced by companies that are partially owned by the Chinese state. Moreover, there's a GOP-proposed legislation, which the administration doesn't support, seeking to remove tax incentives for electric vehicles that utilize battery technology originating from China, even if it's licensed to American car manufacturers.
Although Trump seeks to block the entry of vehicles from Chinese car manufacturers, even those put together in nations such as Mexico, Reuters points out that in a discussion back in August, he expressed willingness to let Chinese companies manufacture automobiles on American soil.
Battery pack for plug-in hybrids by CATL named Freevoy
Trump declared in August that rewards will be provided, and if nations like China wish to market their automobiles in our region, they'll need to establish manufacturing facilities on our soil and employ our workforce. Zeng seems hopeful that this approach will extend to battery production, expressing to Reuters his aspiration for a future where such investments are welcomed.
It's unclear which types of batteries CATL plans to manufacture in the United States. However, the firm is actively growing its battery supply operations for commercial vehicles in China and has also introduced a new battery pack with combined chemistries intended for hybrid electric vehicles.

Neue Dimensionen der Eleganz: Der Mazda CX-60 (2025) erhält Fahrwerks-Upgrade und exklusive Ausstattungsoptionen
To enhance a more individualized experience
The 2025 Mazda CX-60 will boast enhanced driving dynamics, as the model undergoes significant improvements about two and a half years post-launch. This sleek crossover vehicle has seen notable upgrades, especially in the extensively revamped suspension system that had previously received criticism. However, the robust 3.3-liter six-cylinder diesel engine will continue to be a feature of this vehicle.
Mazda is introducing new components and adjusted tuning to enhance the driving comfort, stability, and steering accuracy of their vehicles. Another significant update is to the range of available features. Moving forward, the Mazda CX-60 will be offered in two premium editions, HOMURA PLUS and TAKUMI PLUS. These versions merge the sophisticated design elements of the HOMURA and TAKUMI lines with a comprehensive package of features, which, according to Mazda, leaves nothing to be desired.
Photo Gallery: Mazda CX-60 (2025)
The HOMURA edition has received additional enhancements: it now features black Nappa leather upholstery, a dashboard covered in a Cordovan-style vinyl leather, decorative inserts in a gun-metal finish on the doors and center console, and a black headliner. The refresh for the 2025 model year is rounded off with a new metallic paint called Zircon Sand.
According to Mazda, the modifications made to the chassis primarily involve changes to the geometry and damping of the double wishbone front suspension as well as updates to the components of the multi-link rear suspension. These adjustments are intended to enhance the vehicle's handling, stability, and steering accuracy, particularly when navigating turns. Additionally, the alterations aim to improve the smoothness of the ride. In the rear suspension, softer springs are now paired with firmer shock absorbers, and the range of spring travel has been increased.
This results in reduced jerking motions, creating a balanced and comfortable driving experience. Additionally, the software for the power steering, the KPC and DSC dynamic driving controls, and the i-Activ AWD all-wheel drive system has been recalibrated.
The Mazda CX-60 continues to offer the e-Skyactiv PHEV as its power source, which is a plug-in hybrid engine that delivers a total output of 241 kW/327 HP, and a torque of 500 Nm. It also boasts an electric range of 63-64 kilometers.
Latest from Mazda:
The vehicle also features a robust 3.3-liter e-Skyactiv D inline-six diesel engine available in two power outputs: 147 kW/200 hp and 187 kW/254 hp, delivering up to 550 Nm of torque. It comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission that includes an integrated electric motor. The i-Activ AWD four-wheel drive is standard on both the plug-in hybrid and the more powerful diesel variant. Both powertrains can tow up to 2,500 kg.
The latest version of the Mazda CX-60 is now available for order in Germany, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in February 2025. Pricing details have been released, with a breakdown of the cost for both the basic model and the fully-equipped version.

Cadillac’s 2026 Vistiq: A Glimpse into the Future with 300-Mile Electric Range and High-End Luxuries
Cadillac has revealed more specifics about the Vistiq, a three-row electric SUV set to debut next year as a 2026 model, aiming for a 300-mile range and priced at $78,790.
General Motors is set to commence manufacturing at its Spring Hill plant in Tennessee, the same location where the Lyriq is assembled, beginning early 2025. Customers can expect to receive their vehicles later that same year. The starting price for the first available Platinum model will be $78,790, which includes an obligatory $1,395 fee for delivery. Subsequent releases will include more affordable versions such as the Luxury, Sport, and Premium Luxury models.
Unveiled nearly a year back, the Vistiq is positioned in Cadillac's lineup between the compact two-row Lyriq and the expansive, three-row Escalade IQ. Measuring 205.5 inches in length, 86.7 inches in width, and standing at 71.0 inches in height, it surpasses the Lyriq in both length and height. However, it maintains a nearly similar width and has the same 121.8-inch wheelbase.
Cadillac Vistiq, set to release
The Vistiq is equipped with a typical two-motor all-wheel drive system that delivers 615 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Cadillac claims this setup enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds when utilizing its Velocity Max launch-control feature.
Cadillac projects that the Vistiq will be able to travel approximately 300 miles on a single charge of its 102-kilowatt-hour battery, although the official EPA evaluations will not be released until it's nearer to the vehicle's release date. The Vistiq will initially feature 21-inch wheels, with options to upgrade to either 22-inch or 23-inch sizes, which may affect the vehicle's travel range.
Cadillac suggests that with the available 19.2-kilowatt onboard charger, it's possible to gain approximately 46.7 miles of driving distance for every hour of charging. In line with the latest electric vehicles from General Motors, the Vistiq is equipped with the ability to charge in both directions. This means it can provide power back to a home when equipped with the necessary GM accessories, effectively acting as an emergency power supply.
2026 Model of the Cadillac Vistiq
The Cadillac Vistiq has the capability to recharge up to 79 miles worth of battery in approximately 10 minutes through DC fast charging. It remains unclear if the vehicle will come equipped with a Combined Charging Standard (CCS) port, which would necessitate an adapter for use with Tesla Supercharger stations, or if it will be outfitted with the Tesla North American Charging Standard (NACS) port following GM's announcement that it plans to integrate this standard in its electric vehicles starting from 2025.
Optional features include an adjustable air suspension and the ability to steer the rear wheels, although this doesn't include the diagonal driving feature known as Arrival Mode (originally GMC's CrabWalk) found on the Escalade IQ. Additionally, a road noise cancellation feature can be added to reduce the sound of tires on the road.
2026 Model of Cadillac Vistiq
Within the Vistiq's interior, there's a dashboard screen measuring 33 inches, much like its counterpart, the Lyriq, and it offers an optional audio system with 23 AKG speakers. Additionally, a fabric option created entirely from recycled materials will be offered for certain versions.

Porsche Turbocharges the Taycan Lineup: New 2025 Models Boost Range, Power, and Variety
The latest 2025 Porsche Taycan has undergone a technical update enhancing its driving range and performance, with these upgrades extending to a broader range of its models, bringing the total to thirteen variants.
On Tuesday, Porsche announced the expansion of its Taycan series with the introduction of new models, the Taycan 4 and the Taycan GTS, with the GTS offered as both a traditional sedan and a Sport Turismo wagon. These additions enhance a collection that features multiple levels, from the entry-level Taycan to the top-tier Turbo GT, which holds a performance record. The series also includes a third option, the Cross Turismo, bringing the total variations to 13.
The starting price for the Taycan 4 sedan is set at $105,295, which includes the compulsory destination charge of $1,995. For those interested in the GTS model in its sedan variant, the price is $149,895, whereas the Sport Turismo wagon version is slightly higher at $151,795. Orders for all three models can be placed currently, with the expected delivery timeframe beginning towards the end of Q1 2025.
2025 Model of the Porsche Taycan GTS
Positioned in the lineup between the entry-level Taycan and the more advanced Taycan 4S, the newly introduced Taycan 4 sedan complements the Taycan 4 Cross Turismo by featuring a two-motor AWD system that delivers 402 horsepower, with a boost to 429 horsepower during launch control activation. Although it matches the horsepower of the standard RWD Taycan, the Taycan 4 shaves a tenth of a second off the acceleration time, hitting 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds, Porsche claims.
The Taycan 4 can be purchased with either the base "Performance" battery, which has been expanded to a usable 83.6 kWh (gross 89 kWh) for the 2025 model, or the upgraded "Performance Battery Plus," which experienced an approximate 15% growth in capacity, reaching 97 kWh usable (105 kWh gross) for the year 2025.
The latest Taycan GTS lineup now packs a punch with a 690 hp capacity when using launch control, which is a significant 100 hp increase from earlier models. Thanks to the included Sport Chrono Package, a push-to-pass feature offers an additional boost of 93 hp for bursts of 10 seconds. Both the sedan and Sport Turismo versions have improved their acceleration, achieving 0-60 mph in an estimated 3.1 seconds by Porsche, shaving off 0.4 seconds from the acceleration time of their forerunners. Additionally, the sedan can complete a quarter-mile run in 11.1 seconds, trimming down the time by 0.7 seconds compared to previous models.
2025 Model of the Porsche Taycan GTS
GTS versions come with enhanced chassis features such as optional rear-wheel steering, adjustable air suspension, torque distribution, and a dynamic anti-roll mechanism. These improvements should boost performance, yet during an initial test drive in April, it was evident that the true advantage of these updates is the combination of high performance and improved fuel efficiency.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will release the official range estimates for the new models closer to their release date. However, it's expected that these variants will have a range that sits somewhere between the existing maximum of 318 miles and the minimum of 266 miles, which is specific to the more aerodynamic sedan version. Moreover, these models will see an improvement in their charging profile, with an enhanced and widened peak charging capacity. The top charging rate has been increased to 320 kW, or 270 kW for the models with the standard battery, making them more compatible with the 350-kW capacity of the Combined Charging Standard (CCS) charging

California Highway Patrol Tests Lucid Air as Potential Police Cruiser Amidst Growing Electric Vehicle Trend in Law Enforcement
California Highway Patrol evaluates Lucid Air as a possible patrol vehicle
Lucid Motors presents its electric Air sedan as a candidate for law enforcement use.
This past Sunday, the car manufacturer shared images on X (previously known as Twitter) showcasing an Air model equipped with police gear. The company mentioned that the vehicle had been involved in evaluations by the California Highway Patrol, though no further information was given. Our team has contacted Lucid for more insights and will bring you updates upon receiving a response.
Patrol vehicle edition of the Luc
Lucid's Air model is currently undergoing evaluation by the California Highway Patrol, but it's quite likely that it may eventually be adopted by the police units in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund holds the majority of Lucid's shares, and in 2022, a deal was struck for the Saudi government to purchase as many as 100,000 Lucid electric vehicles. Additionally, Lucid disclosed their intention to establish a manufacturing plant in Saudi Arabia by the year 2025.
Numerous law enforcement agencies in California have incorporated electric vehicles into their fleets, with a number of Teslas that have been customized by UP.FIT, a branch of the modification specialist Unplugged Performance. This firm has just introduced a law enforcement tailored Tesla Model S Plaid and has also adapted other Tesla models such as the Cybertruck, Model 3, and Model Y for police use.
A police cruiser model of the Luc
Certain police departments in California have expressed concerns over the complications in maintaining converted Teslas, along with the limited space offered by the compact Model 3 and Model Y vehicles.
Beyond the Tesla modifications provided by Unplugged Performance, law enforcement agencies seeking electric vehicles have typically had limited choices. However, the landscape is shifting, as Ford and General Motors have recently unveiled police-specific models of the F-150 Lightning and the Chevrolet Blazer EV. Additionally, Stellantis has hinted at a police edition of the soon-to-be-released Dodge Charger Daytona.

Suzuki Dzire: Die 8.000-Euro-Limousine, die Sicherheit erschwinglich macht
For a more individualized experience
Suzuki has launched a sedan priced at approximately 8,000 Euros that passes crash safety tests
In the Global NCAP safety assessment, the affordable Dzire achieved a five-star rating
India remains one of the last strongholds for economical vehicles. In the world's most populous nation, Skoda has only just introduced a compact SUV for less than 9,000 Euros. The market for conventional sedans is also well-served, with Maruti Suzuki recently unveiling the fourth iteration of the Dzire (yes, that's the correct spelling). The vehicle is priced at roughly 8,000 Euros.
When car manufacturers set out to create extremely low-cost vehicles, they are forced to cut corners wherever possible in order to reduce expenses. Typically, this entails skimping on safety features, resulting in alarmingly poor performance in crash tests for vehicles marketed in emerging economies.
In a remarkable turnaround, Maruti Suzuki demonstrates safety improvements as their latest model, the Dzire, secures a maximum five-star rating. This is a significant leap from previous assessments, where the Suzuki Baleno hatchback scored zero stars in a Latin NCAP evaluation in 2021, and the compact Swift managed just a single star in a Global NCAP test the following year.
Maruti Suzuki was optimistic that its compact sedan would ace the crash tests, having proactively submitted their vehicles for destructive testing to Global NCAP. The Dzire already comes standard with features such as six airbags, electronic stability program, hill start assist, and pedestrian protection. These features might seem standard to many of us in 2024, but one must remember that compromises are often expected in cars priced below €10,000. Consider Germany's most affordable new car, the Dacia Sandero, which has a starting price of at least €11,800. Yet, even with top-end features, the Dzire costs less.
This is a sincere and even somewhat appealing family sedan that provides basic transportation means without being a death trap, even by the crash test norms of 2024. It comes with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine under its hood, which delivers a modest 83 horsepower and 112 Nm of torque, a setup we're familiar with from our Suzuki Swift. There's also an alternative version of the Dzire that runs on compressed natural gas (CNG), which produces 71 horsepower and 102 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels either through a five-speed manual transmission or an automated manual transmission with the same number of gears.
The modestly designed Dzire measures 3.99 meters in length, 1.73 meters in width, and 1.52 meters in height, with a wheelbase identical to the Swift at 2.45 meters. Its base model is equipped with 14-inch steel wheels and tires sized at 165/80 R14. The more premium variants come with 15-inch alloy wheels. The lightest model of the range tips the scales at just 920 kilograms. Despite the car's relatively small dimensions, it offers a reasonably spacious trunk with a capacity of 382 liters.
Upcoming 2025 Suzuki Dzire
Upcoming 2025 Suzuki Dzire
The interior design has a resemblance to the Swift model. The higher-end versions come with features like a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, wireless charging, a two-tone interior, and even an electric sunroof. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki offers LED headlights, a rear spoiler, and a tire pressure monitoring system. With a 9-inch touchscreen that wirelessly supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, it's clear this is not a basic vehicle.
Additional offerings from Suzuki:
The Dzire has become a significant commercial hit in India, with sales surpassing 2.7 million units since it first hit the market in March 2008. The latest model is expected to expand its presence into Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and the ASEAN countries. Regrettably, it will not be available in Europe…

MG 2025: Revolution auf Rädern – Die Zukunft der Mobilität mit Hybrid-, LPG- und Elektroantrieben
To enhance a more personal experience
MG: A Preview of the 2025 Innovations
The year ahead is shaping up to be one filled with intriguing new developments, particularly in the realms of hybrid and LPG propulsion systems…
For numerous car manufacturers, 2025 is set to be a year brimming with novel advancements, and MG is no exception. The British marque, now under the aegis of China's SAIC Motor Group, plans to enrich its existing range with fresh engine options and unveil new models that produce zero local emissions in the coming year.
Specifically, we anticipate the introduction of full hybrid models of the new HS and ZS, with the latter likely to be available in an all-electric form and possibly a version running on LPG in the latter half of the year. A fresh electric SUV is expected to replace the Marvel R, which is nearing the end of its lifespan, and an entirely new gasoline-only variant of the popular MG3 is also on the horizon. Here are all the details…
The MG HS will be available as a full hybrid model
Set to release in 2024
The initial innovation from MG for 2025 involves the introduction of a new mid-size SUV called the HS to dealership showrooms, which will also launch a completely new full-hybrid variant later in the year, complementing the existing lineup of traditional combustion engine and plug-in models.
There's limited information available about this new engine option. However, it's confirmed that it will incorporate some of the technology found in the company's other hybrid models. This will be done while ensuring the design and size remain consistent.
MG ZS featuring gasoline/LPG
MG ZS Hybrid (due 2024)
In 2025, the company is set to introduce a second innovation, which though anticipated to arrive a bit later and not yet fully confirmed, might be the launch of a dual-fuel gasoline and LPG version of their compact model, the ZS.
Currently under development in China and globally, this vehicle has the potential to be one of the few options in its class to offer a powertrain like the established 197 horsepower full hybrid once it hits the showrooms.
Petrol-powered MG3
Hybrid version of the MG3
MG's third innovation for 2025 includes updates to the compact MG3 model. It is currently available on our market as a fully hybrid vehicle. Later in the year, a second combustion engine option will be introduced. This new engine option, lacking electric components, is likely to be less powerful than the hybrid version, which boasts 197 horsepower. However, it is expected to be more affordable, with a potentially lower starting price.
Latest Electric MG
MG Marvel R
The company has recently unveiled their latest innovation for the year 2025 – a new electric crossover designed to succeed the current Marvel R model.
The successor, about which details remain undisclosed, is expected to share the same dimensions with the Marvel R but will likely feature a design inspired by the most recent creations from the London-based style hub, Marylebone.
MG Cyberster
The MG Cyberster displayed in front of Goodwood House
As a final treat, the SAIC Motor Group might, by the year 2025 (though it's still not certain), bring the single-engine, rear-wheel-drive variant of the Cyberster Spider to Europe.

2025 Kia Niro EV Holds Steady at $40,975: More Bang for Your Buck with New Standard Features
The price of the 2025 Kia Niro EV remains at $40,975, even though it now comes with additional equipment included as standard, maintaining the price point of the previous year's model.
The starting cost for the basic model of the Niro EV Wind remains at $40,975, which accounts for the $1,375 fee for delivery. In 2025, the Wind will be upgraded with a bigger 10.25-inch digital display for the dashboard and will transition to using a dial-type gear selector.
2025 Version of Kia's Electric Niro Vehicle
The premium version of the Wave is priced at $45,975, including delivery charges. In the 2025 model, features such as blind-spot monitoring, an adjustable 10-way power seat for the front passenger, and a head-up display are now included as basic offerings. Additionally, the options now feature a rear parking collision avoidance system and a semi-automated Smart Park Assist for parking assistance.
The Niro EV maintains a range of 253 miles as estimated by the EPA, powered by a 64.8-kWh battery. It comes equipped with an 11-kW onboard charger, enabling it to fully recharge in approximately seven hours using a Level 2 AC charging station. Additionally, it supports DC fast charging at a peak rate of 85 kW, which allows it to charge from 10% to 80% in roughly 45 minutes.
2025 Model of Kia's Electric Niro Vehicle
A lone magnet-based engine delivers a power of 201 horses and a torque of 188 pounds-feet to the Niro EV's front tires. According to Kia, this allows the electric vehicle to accelerate from a standstill to 62 miles per hour in 7.8 seconds. Upon evaluating the present model of the Niro EV, it was observed that while the car struggles slightly with grip when joining highways at higher speeds, it generally performs with both speed and silence under different driving scenarios.
Kia maintains its hybrid and plug-in hybrid options for the Niro, priced at $28,365 and $35,865 for the 2025 models. These three versions of the Niro act as introductory models for their particular engine types within Kia's range, positioned beneath the larger Kia EV6 and EV9 models. Yet, earlier reports this year suggested that the upcoming Kia EV3, set to be manufactured in Mexico, will aim for a lower price of $30,000, potentially offering a more affordable alternative to the Niro.

Toyota Challenges California’s EV Mandate as “Impossible,” Signals Renewed Emissions Battle
Toyota expressed on Friday that meeting the EV requirements led by California is unattainable
The car manufacturer hinted at a fresh wave of resistance towards California's power to impose tighter emission regulations and phase out petrol vehicle sales.
During a digital discussion with CNBC and various press outlets, Jack Hollis, the Chief Operating Officer of Toyota North America, expressed doubt about meeting California's mandate. The state requires that by 2026, 35% of new vehicles in states adhering to California's guidelines must be electric, as part of a broader initiative to phase out the majority of new internal-combustion engine vehicles by 2035. "At this point, it looks impossible," stated Hollis.
Upcoming Lexus RZ Model Set for
The CARB, responsible for determining California's emission regulations, has reported that an additional 12 states and Washington D.C. have adopted its more stringent guidelines. However, Hollis contends that the market demand is insufficient to meet these objectives and that it's causing automakers to unnaturally distribute a higher number of electric vehicles to states adhering to California's standards.
The remarks stand out predominantly due to the period in which they've been made. Toyota, who previously contested California's autonomy in establishing tougher emissions benchmarks, reached a détente with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) in 2022. Since then, there hasn't been much alteration in CARB's primary regulations on emissions for cars and trucks, and the market's interest in electric vehicles seems to have surged compared to six to twelve months prior. However, with Donald Trump securing a second term, it seems Toyota is reinvigorated to challenge the regulations once more.
2025 Model of Toyota RAV4 with Plug-In Hybrid Feature
Toyota, accompanied by GM, the predecessor of Stellantis, and multiple international car manufacturers, had made an attempt under the former Trump administration to revoke California's power to impose its own vehicle emissions regulations. Conversely, Ford, Honda, BMW, VW, and Volvo chose not to challenge California's emission regulation authority and partnered with the state to reach an agreement.
Toyota has consistently focused on increasing their hybrid car production rather than electric vehicles (EVs). On the other hand, General Motors (GM) has made confusing decisions. They've been trying to subtly obstruct California's regulations while openly aiming for a future that solely consists of electric vehicles, sans hybrids. This strategy has drawn criticism from Trump, who doesn't believe the plan is viable.

Jeep 2025: Elektrische Revolution und persönliche Erfahrung – Ein Blick auf die Zukunft mit Compass, Recon und Wagoneer S
To enhance a more individualized experience
Jeep is gearing up for an electrified future with a preview of their 2025 lineup. The lineup includes the latest iteration of the Compass, which will continue to be offered with traditional combustion engines, alongside the introduction of the Recon and the Wagoneer S. Jeep is charging ahead with electric propulsion, planning to roll out three electric-powered vehicles by 2025. The Recon, an SUV sporting the classic off-road design, and the Wagoneer S, with a more refined appearance but packing a powerful 600-horsepower engine, are part of the American brand's forward-thinking strategy.
The latest Jeep Compass model is set to be built on the STLA Medium platform, a base it shares with the likes of the Peugeot 3008 and Opel Grandland. This new foundation will allow the upcoming generation of the Compass to come in both hybrid and fully electric options, including versions with four-wheel drive.
The initial sneak peek at the latest Jeep Compass has been unveiled.
Specific technical details have yet to be disclosed, but drawing from comparable models, it's anticipated that the lineup will include a 1.2-liter mild-hybrid gasoline engine delivering 136 horsepower, a plug-in hybrid at 195 horsepower, and electric variants with power outputs of 213 and 231 horsepower. The latter is expected to feature a 96.9 kWh battery, offering a projected WLTP range of about 700 kilometers. Taking a cue from the Peugeot E-3008, there's also an all-wheel-drive electric option producing 326 horsepower that would seamlessly integrate into the prospective Compass series.
Regarding the styling, the only teaser available presents a side view of the upcoming Compass, which appears to maintain the dimensions of the present model. The latest Jeep is expected to roll off the assembly line in Melfi, Italy, in 2025, with sales potentially kicking off in the latter half of that year.
Jeep Recon
It's not the electric version of the Wrangler, yet it bears a significant resemblance. The launch of the Jeep Recon, initially slated for 2023, will eventually happen in 2025. It is expected to retain much of the design aesthetic from the concept stage.
Jeep Recon Model
The vehicle will feature a fabric roof and doors that can be taken off, similar to the Wrangler. It's also expected to come with the Select-Terrain system, which allows for locking differentials and selecting among various driving modes.
The Jeep Wagoneer S measures 4.89 meters in length, essentially positioning itself as the electric counterpart to the Grand Cherokee. Constructed on the STLA Large platform, it boasts a peak power output of 600 horsepower and 836 Newton-meters of torque, achieving an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. Moreover, it offers a nearly 500 km driving range based on the American EPA cycle, which is generally considered more reflective of real-world conditions compared to the WLTP standard.
Jeep Wagoneer S Model
The battery is expected to have a 100 kWh capacity at 400 volts, and it's likely to incorporate NMC cells, although further details have yet to be released. Charging times are anticipated to allow a state of charge increase from 5% to 80% in roughly 28 minutes. Additionally, authentic Jeep performance is anticipated, complete with four-wheel drive and driving modes tailored for off-road conditions.
