Alex Rins Ready to Revitalize Yamaha’s MotoGP Season in Indonesia After Misano Illness Setback
Alex Rins shares status on his return following absence from Misano MotoGP
Alex Rins was sidelined from the previous race weekend because of sickness
Alex Rins is set to return to the track this weekend in Indonesia.
The Yamaha competitor missed the Friday practice session during the previous weekend's Emilia Romagna MotoGP because of a severe fever. Despite trying to get on the bike on Saturday, he ultimately had to pull out of the competition.
Several days afterward during the Mandalika event, Yamaha is set to greet Rins again as he returns to the circuit.
"Missing the race at Misano last weekend was a real letdown for me, but I've completely bounced back and am eager to get back on the track," Rins expressed.
"I truly appreciate this segment of the season. There are numerous Grand Prix races one after the other, and it's incredibly heartwarming to witness the enthusiasm the fans in this region have for MotoGP."
Colleague Fabio Quartararo noted, "We're embarking on the international circuit at this point, which is consistently thrilling."
"It's rare for us to meet the fans in this region, but their support for me is overwhelming, which makes these Grand Prix events really special. I'm also quite fond of the Mandalika circuit."
"In 2022 and 2023, I had the honor of standing on the podium here. This year, we're committed to giving it our all once again."
"We progressed in Misano, so I'm eager to find out what we're capable of achieving this weekend."
Team leader Massimo Meregalli stated, “We went directly from Misano to Mandalika.
"This week marks Alex's comeback, putting us back at maximum strength."
The weekend in Emilia-Romagna turned out to be highly beneficial for our team as a whole. The efforts we've been putting in are beginning to bear fruit, and we aim to maintain this upward momentum.
"Having spent a considerable period racing at Misano, we're curious to observe our performance on a totally distinct circuit."
"The squad is incredibly driven, particularly because our goal is to deliver a spectacular performance for the fans in Indonesia. Their enthusiasm for motorcycle racing surpasses expectations, prompting our entire team to put in extra effort."
Last weekend at Misano, Quartararo was just one turn away from achieving his season's top performance.
He exhausted his fuel supply, causing him to drop from fifth position. Consequently, he had to accept seventh place.
However, it marks progress for Yamaha's leading figure.
He has a fondness for the Mandalika circuit, securing a second-place finish in 2022 and a third-place in 2023.
