Lawrence Stroll, the owner of Aston Martin, announced that Adrian Newey will take charge of the Formula 1 team's complete technical department on a full-time schedule.
On Tuesday morning, Aston Martin introduced Newey as their new technical managing partner.
Starting in March 2025, Newey is set to head Aston Martin's highly skilled technical team.
Aston Martin has brought on board several well-known individuals, including Enrico Cardile from Ferrari. Additionally, Dan Fallows, formerly associated with Red Bull, remains with the team.
Stroll announced that Newey will be dedicating himself to F1 on a full-time basis, providing guidance and leadership to the team's technical department.
“Our team is solid, and Adrian has collaborated with some members before,” stated Stroll.
Adrian is set to become the technical managing partner for the team, meaning he will be fully dedicated to Formula 1 on a daily basis.
“Providing guidance and leadership to his team.”
Stroll is optimistic that Newey's addition will positively influence the whole team.
"There have been numerous elements involved," Stroll mentioned. "From when I began six years ago to bringing in the excellent management team we have now."
"Adrian is absolutely crucial, playing a pivotal role in the overall picture, especially when it comes to technical aspects and leadership in that area."
"He will take charge of the team, which I believe will positively influence the entire organization."
Regarding the technical setup, it seems that the decision will be entirely up to Newey.
"Adrian has been appointed as the technical managing partner," Stroll stated.
"He will head the technical team and also play a leadership role within the company, contributing to the overall business as a partner and shareholder."
"I'll let Adrian handle that arrangement since he's far more qualified than I am."
