2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E Heats Up with Standard Pump, Sport Package, and a Starting Price of $38,490
The 2025 model of the Ford Mustang Mach-E comes with a few new features, notably the inclusion of a standard heat pump. The starting price for this model is set at $38,490. This follows a series of enhancements made to the 2024 version, which saw improvements in charging speed, extended range for certain models, and enhanced driving dynamics with the introduction of a Rally edition and an available performance boost for the GT version.
The recent upgrades include a conventional heat pump, which, as demonstrated in other electric vehicles, often leads to better performance in chilly conditions, particularly over extended distances. This enhancement is designed to mitigate the reduction of driving range in cold weather experienced by electric vehicles, an aspect in which the Mach-E could potentially see advancement. In a 2023 research conducted by the battery company Recurrent, the Mach-E exhibited a relatively significant drop in driving range during cold weather when compared to other electric vehicle models.
The latest version of the hands-off driving feature, BlueCruise 1.5, now included in the 2024 model lineup (upgraded from the previous 1.3 version), introduces the capability for the vehicle to automatically change lanes. This action is triggered either by encountering a slower-moving vehicle ahead or to prevent tailgating in the overtaking lane. The BlueCruise feature is available at no additional cost for the first year with the purchase of GT and Rally models, while it's offered as a $495 upgrade for Select and Premium models, but only if activated at the time of purchase (else, a 90-day trial is provided). Buyers have the option to pay for BlueCruise upfront or opt for a subscription service when placing their order.
Ford's latest Connectivity Package offers a suite of features such as an EV-specific route planning system, 5G wireless internet access, and various entertainment options including YouTube (restricted to use when stationary) and Alexa. This package brings one of the key elements of the Ford Digital Experience entertainment system, which has been introduced in various models but is yet to be available in the Mach-E.
Slated for release in 2025, a Sport Appearance Package will be available, offering the aesthetic features of the Mach-E GT to more affordable versions. This package will incorporate the GT's front end design, grille, and distinctive red Brembo front brake calipers, alongside a set of sleek black 19-inch rims. The interior is enhanced with red stitching accents and performance-oriented pedals, and all Mach-E variants will now come with a steering column-mounted gear shifter, moving away from the former rotary gear selector.
The distance the vehicle can travel on a single charge is expected to stay at around 320 miles for the rear-wheel-drive configuration when equipped with the 91-kwh (usable) Extended Range battery, or approximately 250 miles using the 72-kwh Standard Range battery. Opting for all-wheel drive with either battery option should result in an estimated distance of 300 miles with the Extended Range battery and around 230 miles with the Standard Range battery.
GT versions of the Mach-E enhance the dual-motor system's performance, delivering 480 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. Opting for the GT Performance Upgrade boosts the torque to 700 pound-feet, enabling the Mach-E to sprint from a standstill to 60 mph in roughly 3.3 seconds as per Ford's calculations, and complete the quarter-mile in 11.8 seconds. The Mach-E Rally edition merges the GT's robust powertrain with tires, suspension, and software adjustments tailored for rally racing.
The entry-level Select model of the vehicle, equipped with rear-wheel drive and the Standard Range Pack, is priced at $38,490, a figure that already accounts for the compulsory $1,995 fee for destination charges. The Premium variant is available for $41,990. Opting for all-wheel drive will increase the cost by $3,000 for both versions. If you're eyeing the Premium model and wish to upgrade to the Extended Range pack, you'll need to shell out an additional $3,750. For the Select model, this upgrade is pricier at $5,250 and necessitates the selection of all-wheel drive. The more robust GT and Rally versions, which come exclusively with the larger battery, are tagged at $54,490 and $57,990, respectively.

The latest information specifies that customers who activate BlueCruise at the time they purchase their vehicle will have access to the service for one year without incurring subscription costs or additional fees.
