What sparked your interest in the matters concerning ethnic minorities in China?
My interest in ethnic minority policies grew broader following a debate on the subject in China.
Critics argued that the preferential and ethnic policies in place were too narrow and did not adequately address the socioeconomic disparities between the Han majority and ethnic minorities.
On the opposing side were individuals who argued that ethnic regional autonomy essentially established a special interest for minority officials in particular.
