**”Surprise and Strategy: Coulthard Reacts to Hamilton’s Singapore GP Discontent Amid Ferrari’s Frustrations”**
Lewis Hamilton's dissatisfaction with the strategy used in Singapore has raised eyebrows.
"It surprises me that this even became a topic of conversation."
David Coulthard expressed his astonishment at Lewis Hamilton's dissatisfaction with his race strategy during the F1 Singapore Grand Prix last weekend.
Mercedes admitted their mistake in equipping Hamilton with soft tires, leading to an early pit stop.
Hamilton expressed his frustration over the team radio, stating that Mercedes were "killing me with this offset," as his starting position of third place dropped to a sixth-place finish.
Former F1 driver Coulthard commented on Channel 4, stating, "He wasn't pleased."
“He did not agree with the plan. I am astonished that it was even a topic of conversation.
"If you opt for soft tires, it's understood that you'll need to make a pit stop sooner."
"If a Safety Car had been deployed, a medium tire strategy might have been highly effective."
"All those favorable possibilities, reservations, and uncertainties."
"Ultimately, despite a solid performance in the qualifying rounds, the grand prix itself was underwhelming."
Toto Wolff confessed later, "We believed that the Soft tyre would benefit Lewis at the beginning, but it ended up being a mistake."
George Russell, who began the race trailing Hamilton, ended up ahead of him.
In Singapore, Hamilton managed to out-qualify Russell for just the fifth time this season, securing the third position on the starting grid.
"It’s fantastic to see him regain his confidence during the qualifying session," former teammate Nico Rosberg shared with Sky Sports.
"He was exceptionally strong during qualifying sessions. He ranks among the all-time greats, particularly in qualifying."
Optimism arises for struggling Ferrari
Hamilton's prospective team, Ferrari, also faced a challenging Singapore Grand Prix.
Charles Leclerc secured the ninth position in qualifying and ended the race in fifth place. Carlos Sainz, who qualified tenth, crossed the finish line in seventh place.
"Without a doubt, it was a missed chance," Coulthard commented.
"They were struggling significantly to get the tires working properly."
"In Baku, Pirelli mandated higher tyre pressures. However, here, they have the option to reduce them."
"Due to the reduced blankets in use, Carlos was taken by surprise, leading to his collision with the wall."
"Charles? It was a small error. Things improved from that point onward."
"However, the speed is evident during the race."
