Carlos Sainz insists F1 regulations are 'sufficiently transparent'
Ferrari's Carlos Sainz is of the opinion that the existing Formula 1 regulations are "sufficiently transparent," following the widely discussed incident involving Verstappen and Norris in Austria that became a major topic of conversation among the teams.
Sainz expressed his perspective, stating, "From what I see, it's evident that you have the option to shift in defense and then return, but it's crucial to maintain a gap of at least one car's width up to the white line to ensure space for another vehicle. That's the established rule. I find it challenging to accept that there's a continuous need to introduce more regulations to the racing aspect."
"In my view, the rulebook is already overflowing with guidelines outlining the necessary actions for various maneuvers, including overtaking from the inside, defending on the inside, attacking from the outside, and defending from an outside position."
"The rules in place are incredibly intricate and precise, making it challenging for me to adhere to them precisely when I'm at the helm of a vehicle speeding at 300 kph. At such speeds, it's impossible to process all these regulations. I'm not in favor of adding any more rules. The existing ones are sufficiently clear. Moreover, the officials have already made a ruling. There's definitely not much more to discuss."
