Schlichte Eleganz trifft Funktionalität: Ein exklusiver Blick in den Innenraum des Dacia Sandero 2024
Dacia Sandero (2024): A Closer Look at the Interior of the Popular Model
The Romanian vehicle may be simple, but it's equipped with all the necessities
For many years, the Dacia Sandero has been a top-selling car across Europe. This compact car from Romania is beloved for its practicality and budget-friendly starting price. It has honed simplicity and functionality into its core advantages. Moreover, even the more upscale trims don't skimp on features, as our in-depth exploration of the cabin reveals.
Dacia Sandero: The Dashboard
The Sandero's interior comes with all the essential features required for everyday use, steering clear of unnecessary frills. The dashboard design is straightforward yet represents a step up from the model's earlier version. The clever use of color and texture in the choice of materials gives the cabin a notably pleasant ambiance.
The air vents of the air conditioning system have an angular design that matches the exterior's edges, while the multimedia system comes in different styles. The standard model allows you to secure your smartphone in a dedicated compartment and use it alongside the Dacia Media Control application. Additionally, there's an 8-inch display offering simple and user-friendly visuals, and a separate smartphone mount for improved visibility when using the navigation features.
The dashboard features a fully analog design, but the steering wheel sports a contemporary appearance, thanks in part to the Dacia logo. The climate control switches are user-friendly, and there are convenient storage compartments spread across the dashboard. In front of the gearshift, there's a compact glovebox, and a fairly spacious compartment is located beneath the armrest. Combined, the storage spaces offer a total capacity of 21 liters.
Dacia Sandero: Craftsmanship and Materials
It's evident that the construction and materials used are chosen with the intention to minimize manufacturing costs. However, the Sandero does offer soft padding in the central section of the dashboard, though the majority of the interior is comprised of rigid plastics, including areas where one might rest their elbows.

The various shiny gray accents, however, enhance the overall impression of quality, while the top-tier Extreme model also features copper-colored decorative elements that add a bit more personality to the interior.
The Dacia Sandero's storage space is quite spacious, with the trunk offering an impressive capacity ranging from 406 to 1,186 liters, making it one of the largest in its category. However, for the LPG model, it's not feasible to store a spare tire underneath the trunk floor because this area is occupied by the gas tank, which is a standard design feature for vehicles that run on LPG.
Nevertheless, the cargo space delivers a significant amount of storage capacity, even though it features a tall, unprotected loading edge that may be susceptible to scratches.
The seating of the Dacia Sandero
There are four tie-down hooks, with two located on each side, and a halogen light is present. However, there is no charging socket available. The rear seat can be folded down in a 60:40 split, but this leaves a pivot point in the center and creates a fairly noticeable step.
Entry to the back seats is facilitated by doors that can swing open to nearly a right angle. Inside, there is ample legroom for individuals taller than 1.80 meters and plenty of space overhead. Additionally, the center seat in the rear is quite comfortable due to the low-profile central tunnel.
Unfortunately, the front seats are overly soft and thinly cushioned, leading to discomfort on longer journeys. There's a 12-volt charging socket located in the center console, and convenient grab handles are situated above the doors.
