Red Bull Stands Firm Behind Sergio Perez Despite Struggles and Singapore Setback
Sergio Perez receives strong support from Red Bull despite scoring few points

Sergio Perez has gained additional support from Red Bull as the 2024 season approaches its conclusion.
Perez has faced criticism throughout the season, but Red Bull decided against substituting him halfway through.
However, they now trail McLaren in the constructors' championship standings, as Perez has scored significantly fewer points compared to his teammate Max Verstappen and McLaren's drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
Last weekend in Singapore, Perez secured the 13th position in the qualifying round and ultimately placed 10th in the race, earning a single point
In the previous race in Azerbaijan, he was in contention for a podium finish until a late collision with Carlos Sainz resulted in him earning no points for the Red Bull team.
Christian Horner evaluated Perez’s performance in Singapore, noting that Perez had a strong first lap where he aggressively defended his position and executed a few solid overtakes.
However, he soon encountered difficulties. He had trouble gaining traction and couldn't exit the corners effectively enough to position himself for an overtaking move.
“He found it exasperating. However, he managed to secure a point, which will accumulate with the others by the season's conclusion.”
"When you work as a team, the task becomes more manageable."
"In Azerbaijan, Checo performed exceptionally well. However, in Singapore, he faced difficulties during qualifying and subsequently found himself in a disadvantageous position during the race."
"We're optimistic about the upcoming tracks and the upgrades we're planning to introduce in the next few races. These are crucial events for Checo and the entire team."
Sky Sports analyst Jamie Chadwick stated that Red Bull’s second driver’s lackluster performance is the main factor behind the team missing out on this season’s constructors’ championship.
He ranks eighth in the drivers' championship, trailing his teammate Verstappen, the two Ferrari drivers, the two McLaren drivers, and the two Mercedes drivers.
