Pedro Acosta’s Mission to Revive MotoGP Fortunes: A One-Way Journey to KTM Headquarters in Search of Solutions
Pedro Acosta heads to KTM headquarters on a "one-way ticket" in search of clarity
"My goal isn't to find excuses; it's to find solutions."
During his summer vacation, Pedro Acosta plans to visit the KTM headquarters in Austria.
The premier rider from this season's MotoGP team aims to delve deeper into the entire project to grasp the reasons behind the diminishing competitive edge of his motorcycle in the latest races.
Despite having taken a well-earned break recently to visit Ibiza alongside Jorge Martin, Aleix, and Pol Espargaro, his focus will soon shift back to professional obligations.
"Acosta mentioned to Relevo that he has a ticket to go, but lacks a ticket to come back, in reference to his journey to KTM's headquarters."
"Let's find out how long, in days or weeks, my stay will be."
Communicating in person is always the preferred option. Should I stay for a week, or possibly longer, each day brings fresh inquiries and tasks. Additionally, it offers me the opportunity to meet with people.
Acosta made a striking entrance into MotoGP this season, standing out as the sole newcomer in the competition.
The Tech3 GASGAS competitor secured podium finishes in both Portugal and Texas, during two of the initial three Grand Prix events.
However, withdrawals at Le Mans and Assen, coupled with an inability to fulfill confident forecasts of a victory in Jerez, have seen his season diminish.
Aprilia has risen as the primary challengers to the leading Ducatis, while Acosta continues to be KTM's top-performing racer, surpassing Brad Binder.
Acosta stated, "My upbringing in the Austrian mindset of believing 'we can surpass our current achievements' in the championship has always led me to think there's room for improvement."
"I'm not in search of a justification. My aim is to find a resolution."
Initially, my plan is to interact with others and observe the day's events to grasp the operational dynamics. This way, by the end of my first day, I aim to have a clear understanding of everyone's responsibilities, who holds authority in different areas, and the reasons behind various procedures.
Criticizing or making demands without understanding the situation fully is a straightforward task.
"I like to initially educate myself and understand the reasons behind actions not being taken, and identify who grants authority to someone and who revokes it from others, to discern which directions to pursue.
To truly understand the issue, you must immerse yourself in it.
"I was certain that this is where I desired to be and my feelings haven't changed; I still do. No one has thrown me into a difficult or intimidating situation."
"Now I have the opportunity to unlock it and venture out independently."
