Pecco Bagnaia has suggested that he might participate in an upcoming Suzuka 8 Hours event.
MotoGP racer Johann Zarco clinched victory in Japan's renowned endurance race on Sunday.
Johann Zarco teamed up with Takumi Takahashi and Teppei Nagoe to race for Honda, marking his debut at the event.
Ex-Ducati MotoGP head Paolo Ciabatti was present in Japan as the Italian brand backed the Kagayama team, which secured a fourth-place finish on a Ducati Panigale V4 R.
Ciabatti shared a photo featuring the Kagayama riders, which drew an interesting reaction from Bagnaia.
"Get everything ready; I'll be there later," the MotoGP champion playfully announced.
The idea of Bagnaia participating in the Suzuka 8 Hours is an exciting possibility.
Ducati would definitely need to have a complete factory team, which they didn't have this year.
No brand from outside Japan has ever claimed victory in the premier event of the FIM World Endurance Championship.
This year, Honda claimed their 30th victory in a span of 45 years.
Bagnaia's participation would mirror the actions of Valentino Rossi, who made a notable appearance in the Suzuka 8 Hours.
In a memorable victory, Rossi clinched the 2001 event alongside his teammate, Colin Edwards.
Other iconic victors of the Suzuka 8 Hours include Wayne Rainey in 1988, Eddie Lawson in 1990, and Mick Doohan in 1991.
Is Bagnaia, heading a factory Ducati team, the next in line?
