Marc Marquez Secures Ducati Factory Seat for 2025: A Testament to Attitude and Performance
Ducati acknowledges that Marc Marquez's exemplary demeanor played a significant role in his elevation to the main team.
Throughout the 2024 season, Ducati has dominated the competition, with Maverick Vinales being the only rider to win a MotoGP race (COTA) on a different brand of motorcycle.
Francesco Bagnaia, Jorge Martin, and Marc Marquez have notably excelled, with Enea Bastianini also displaying impressive performances on several occasions.
"Davide Tardozzi expressed great pride in the performance of our teams and riders," he remarked while reflecting on the season's first half during an interview with MotoGP.com.
Jorge Martin and Pecco Bagnaia are truly excelling, while the other two Ducati riders, Marc Marquez and Bastianini, are also showing impressive performances, holding the second and third positions.
"Once more, we find ourselves filled with pride regarding the accomplishments of our engineers and team members."
Ducati has appeared nearly invincible, yet their competitors, Bagnaia and Martin, have not been flawless, each having faltered from leading spots due to crashes.
Tardozzi addressed the topic, emphasizing that the experiences gained would fortify their team: "I'm not here to dwell on bad luck or point out errors. This is especially true for Barcelona, and Pecco is acutely aware."
"Nonetheless, he proved himself a victor, shrugged off the setback, and instead of succumbing to tears the next day, he was celebrating a win."
That being said, I believe Pecco is his own toughest critic when it comes to errors. He presented a few justifications to the engineers, and from those errors, we've gained significant insights for the future. He continues to develop.
He has secured the world champion title twice, yet he continues to focus on improving aspects that require intense concentration.
In Barcelona, he felt overly confident about securing a victory. It's essential to remain concentrated until you cross the finish line.
Next season, Bagnaia will be joined by Marc Marquez as his new team-mate.
The eight-time world champion's exceptional performances on the Ducati team have been noteworthy, but what truly captivated Ducati prior to signing him was his remarkable demeanor off the track.
Tardozzi mentioned, "Marc approaches joining the Ducati team with the appropriate mindset. He hasn't demanded any extras unless Gigi Dall'Igna decided to offer him something.
"His exemplary demeanor is the reason he's been chosen as the rider for the factory team in 2025."
