Marc Marquez inquired about "option C" propositions.
Marc Marquez has affirmed that switching from Ducati to KTM or Aprilia was a legitimate consideration.
Marquez was the pivotal figure in the 2025 MotoGP rider roster and was eventually selected by Ducati to join their official team for the upcoming season.
However, he asserts that KTM and Aprilia also presented proposals.
"It was a strategy," he mentioned to DAZN.
"Although it was option C, why not consider it? Ultimately, there are two additional European brands that are performing successfully."
"They have an effective strategy and have made significant advances in the past few years. They are consistently winning races, making it a genuine and practical choice."
However, in 2025, Marquez edged out Jorge Martin for the official red motorcycle.
As a consequence, Aprilia signed Martin and Marco Bezzecchi, whereas KTM recruited Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini to join their Tech3 squad.
Marc Marquez comments on Ducati's diminished representation
Pramac's move from Ducati to Yamaha will significantly impact the grid next year, decreasing the number of Ducati bikes.
Marquez mentioned that as a fan of Ducati, he now prefers having eight Ducati bikes on the track because it provides more information.
"From a MotoGP enthusiast's perspective, it's essential to have four Yamaha bikes competing; having eight Ducati bikes isn't acceptable."
Marquez holds the third position in the MotoGP rankings as the upcoming race at Silverstone approaches. He trails behind the current leader, Pecco Bagnaia, by 56 points. Bagnaia will be Marquez's teammate in the next season.
He has not achieved a victory in a race riding a Ducati yet.
When questioned by DAZN about the number of additional championships he thinks he can secure, Marquez confidently responded, "At least one."
At present, he is competing against Bagnaia and Martin for the championship this season.
When questioned about which competitor was more formidable, he responded, "At the moment, Pecco."
"He possesses mental stability, which is crucial. Following that, the outcomes."
"He is building up speed, and although it might shift, it's still alarming."
