Lancia’s Elektrisierende Renaissance: Die Rückkehr nach Deutschland und Neuheiten für 2025
To enhance a more individual experience
Lancia: A Glimpse into the 2025 Lineup
Next year, the iconic HF badge and the brand itself will make a comeback in Germany
The year 2025 marks a significant milestone for Lancia as it makes a much-anticipated return to the German automotive scene with the launch of the new Ypsilon. Available in both a petrol mild-hybrid version and a punchy 156 horsepower electric version, this Italian luxury compact car is set to rev up the excitement in 2025.
The announcement has been made for the HF, the brand's most powerful model, which revives a historic acronym. Furthermore, in 2025, there may be news about an entirely new series that revives an old name.
Lancia Ypsilon High-Fidelity Model
Lancia Ypsilon High-Fidelity Edition for the year 2025
The most powerful Ypsilon model will be an electric vehicle. It is set to feature a motor with 280 horsepower and a 54 kWh battery, capable of achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 5.8 seconds. Its technical foundation is expected to closely resemble that of the Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce and the Abarth 600e, although its driving range has yet to be officially disclosed.
Additional modifications in relation to the standard Lancia models include a reduction in ride height, an increase in track width, and adjustments to the steering and suspension systems. Visually, we can expect to see a variety of athletic touches, the HF emblem, sport seats with built-in headrests, and other features.
Further from Lancia:
In addition to the street version, there will also be a rally variant of the HF available, potentially as early as 2025. It is set to compete in Rally 4, a category exclusively for front-wheel drive vehicles that are driven by up-and-coming drivers.
In contrast to the street model, the racing variant of the Ypsilon will forgo battery power in favor of a 1.2 three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine ramped up to 212 horsepower, paired with a manual 5-speed transmission.
The launch of the Lancia Gamma is anticipated for 2026, with potential insights expected as early as 2025 regarding the model set to be produced in Melfi. The Gamma will share the STLA Medium platform from Stellantis with the likes of the new Opel Grandland and the Peugeot 3008/5008, and it's highly probable that it will be an electric vehicle. However, the platform's design allows for the potential incorporation of (mild) hybrid engines.
The design is expected to be a blend of fastback and crossover elements, with key rivals being the Audi A5, BMW 5 Series, Mercedes C-Class, and the Tesla Model 3.

Vom Budget-Pick-up zum Renngiganten: Der Toyota Hilux Champ und seine Verwandlung durch Gazoo Racing
To enhance your experience with a more personal touch
Toyota's Affordable Pickup Transforms into a Racing Vehicle
The Gazoo Racing modification features a diesel-powered rear-wheel drive.
For approximately 12,500 Euros, that's the asking price for Toyota's Hilux Champ in Thailand. This basic pickup is also marketed under various names such as Hilux Rangga, Hilux Tamaraw, and Hilux Stout depending on the region. It debuted at the end of 2022 with the IMV 0 concept, before entering production last year as a surprisingly inexpensive utility vehicle for emerging markets.
And it's fit for racing as well. The race-ready Hilux Champ was crafted by Thailand's Toyota Gazoo Racing Team to compete in the local Super Pickup Series. To adhere to the regulations, it features a configuration that includes rear-wheel drive, a single cab, a diesel engine, and a manual transmission. It's powered by a 2.4-liter turbo diesel engine that delivers more horsepower and torque than the standard engine's 150 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque.
Gazoo Racing Thailand's Toyota Hilux Champ
The racing version of the truck was unveiled earlier in the year, but it has only recently come to light through Top Gear Philippines. This track-only Hilux Champ features a robust body kit complete with flared fenders and even a rear spoiler, in addition to a lowered suspension and an oversized intercooler. While the base model already has a unique look, this race-ready variant stands out even more with its striking appearance.
The Toyota Gazoo Racing Team from Thailand seems determined to demonstrate that practically any car can be turned into a racer with the right enhancements. The Hilux Champ, constructed on a simple ladder frame to keep costs low, might not seem like an obvious choice for the track. But who’s to say it can't compete? Despite its boxy shape not being conducive to sleek aerodynamics, additions like a front splitter and rear wing do provide some improvement to the brick-like pickup's handling on the race course.
The Hilux Champ, modified for racing, is a single-seater based on the long-wheelbase model and competes in Thailand against rivals such as the Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Triton, and Isuzu D-Max. The latter is marketed in some regions as the revamped Mazda BT-50.

SAIC vs. EU: Elektromobilität im Spannungsfeld von Zöllen und Rechtsstreitigkeiten
To enhance a more individualized experience
SAIC Initiates Legal Action Against EU for "Unfair" Electric Car Tariffs
In the UK, now separate from the EU, MG Motor sidesteps the punitive tariffs for the time being
The Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) has declared its intention to take legal action against the European Commission. The Chinese car manufacturing titan alleges that the EU's recent anti-subsidy investigation is riddled with improperly processed data, factual inaccuracies, and, topping it off, an outright dismissal of the evidence presented.
According to SAIC, the EU probe unfairly targeted its operations and also exposed sensitive company information, which undermines and angers the automaker.
The dispute centers on SAIC's electric vehicles, which have been slapped with a hefty import duty by the EU, totaling a tax of 45.3 percent. Previously set at ten percent, an additional 35.3 percent has now been tacked on. This move is designed to enable the EU to take strong action against what it perceives as government-subsidized pricing tactics by Chinese electric car manufacturers.
SAIC anticipates that this action will likely lead to increased prices for electric vehicles for consumers in Europe and make the transition to more eco-friendly vehicles more difficult. SAIC expressed dissatisfaction, stating that their defense arguments were omitted from the final decision, and criticized the investigation process as being one-sided. The company is now gearing up to challenge the findings in the European Court of Justice.
Photo Gallery: Testing the MG ZS Hybrid (2025)
Despite the legal fanfare from SAIC, its subsidiary MG has, for the time being, evaded any repercussions. The British arm of the company, renowned for its budget-friendly electric vehicles such as the MG4, did not become a target of tariffs, particularly not in the UK. This is hardly surprising since the UK has exited the EU post-Brexit.
The company reassured British consumers that its electric MG models would not be impacted by these rates, hinting that MG plans to continue offering its popular electric vehicles in the UK at competitive prices. As SAIC takes on a legal role, MG in the UK is gearing up to meet the growing demand for budget-friendly electric vehicles, unaffected by the implications of tariffs.
Also exempt from the tariffs are MG's combustion engine models, including the newly launched ZS and HS series, as well as the smaller model 3.
More from MG:
Meanwhile, SAIC's ventures in India are encountering their own set of challenges. A joint venture between SAIC and India's JSW Group, named JSW MG Motors India, is being hindered by a different type of inquiry.
The Indian government is meticulously evaluating the foreign investment proposal by the company to confirm its compliance with "Press Note 3," a policy that governs investments from adjacent countries. The scrutiny of the proposal, overseen by India's Home Minister, has the joint venture on tenterhooks, eagerly anticipating approval to take advantage of India's production-linked incentives (PLI).

Elektrisierte Rivalität: Der Audi A6 e-tron trifft auf den BMW i5 im ultimativen Vergleich der deutschen Luxuslimousinen
To enhance a more individualized experience
The 2024 Audi A6 e-tron and BMW i5 Face Off for the First Time
Germany's Iconic Luxury Sedans Go Electric
The enduring competition between Audi and BMW enters a new chapter with the electrification of the A6 (Sportback) and the i5. These quintessential executive cars are now powered by batteries, offering models that stand out in terms of technology, driving range, and design.
We're endeavoring to juxtapose the two competitors across the board, from their exteriors to their engines, not overlooking the interiors and, most importantly, the starting prices.
Gallery Preview: 2024 Audi A6 Sportback e-tron
Exterior Design
Visually, the BMW i5 shares nearly identical features with its combustion engine counterpart, the 5 series. It has seen a growth compared to its predecessor, stretching to a length of 5.06 meters—an increase of 97 mm, widening to 1.90 meters which is 32 mm more, and its height reaching 1.52 meters, up by 36 mm.
The front end of the vehicle features prominently large grilles. Additionally, it has sleek, angular LED headlights that give the i5 a bold aesthetic. At the rear, horizontal lights highlight the vehicle's considerable width. The distinctions from the combustion engine 5 series are found in various details such as the grille, rear diffuser, and a unique design for the alloy wheels.

The upcoming BMW i5 electric
The latest Audi A6 e-tron model, with dimensions of 4.93 meters in length, 1.92 meters in width, and 1.45 meters in height, retains the design elements of the concept version unveiled in 2021, preserving the core design elements at the front and rear of the vehicle.
It's noteworthy that the drag coefficient value is 0.21, which is among the lowest in its category. The styling adopts the distinctive elements seen in the latest models from Audi, such as the A5 and the Q6 e-tron. It includes details like retractable door handles and, as an optional extra, camera-based wing mirrors that project onto screens located at the base of the windscreen pillars. In contrast to the i5, it features a large liftback opening rather than a traditional sedan-style trunk.
The wheels come in sizes ranging from 19 to 21 inches, while the lighting system integrates second-generation LED matrix headlights and OLED technology, providing various light patterns. The rear light strip acts similarly to a screen, with 45 sections per panel that can convey warning signals to other cars, and allows for up to eight different light patterns at both the front and rear.
Interior
The interior of the BMW is known for its simplistic design. The centerpiece is the BMW Curved Display, which merges a 12.3-inch screen for driving data with a 14.9-inch infotainment screen running on BMW OS 8.5. Incorporated into this setup is the AirConsole platform, which provides passengers the opportunity to engage in video games while on the move.
The Interior of the BMW i5
Climate control can be managed through the BMW Interaction Bar, a central touch bar on the dashboard, similar to the one found in the 7 Series. BMW provides a variety of customization options for upholstery within the BMW Individual Program. The emphasis on sustainability is evident in the choice to use vegan leather for all the upholstery.
Among the driver assistance features is the active lane change with glance assistant, which allows for lane changes to be initiated by simply looking in the desired direction; the vehicle autonomously performs the lane change once it has confirmed it's safe to do so.
The trunk space in the i5 sedan holds 490 liters, which is about 30 liters smaller than the gasoline model.
The interior of the Audi A6 Sportback e-tron
The interior of the Audi features a tilted panoramic display measuring 11.9 inches for the Virtual Cockpit, paired with a 14.5-inch central screen for infotainment purposes. Additionally, there's a separate 10.9-inch screen for the passenger and a head-up display that incorporates augmented reality technology. All these devices are powered by the Android Automotive OS.
The A6 e-tron is equipped with a novel interactive light on the dashboard that displays the battery's charge level and other valuable data. Voice commands are managed via the integration of ChatGPT.
The vehicle comes equipped with a panoramic glass roof featuring adjustable transparency and a Bang & Olufsen sound system with speakers built into the headrests, providing a rich and personalized audio experience.
2024 Audi A6 Sportback e-tron
The trunk of the A6 Sportback e-tron offers a storage space ranging from 502 to 1,422 liters and includes a 27-liter compartment at the front for storing charging cables, which can be accessed by pressing a button on the panel.
Engines
The range of engines for the A6 Sportback e-tron starts with the rear-motor version, which offers 240 kW (326 hp) and 435 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 210 km/h. Ferraris Aufbruch in die Zukunft: Ein Ausblick auf die revolutionären Modelle für 2025
To enhance a more individualized experience
Ferrari: A Glimpse into the 2025 Lineup
From the F80 to the debut of the electric vehicle, including the 12Cilindri Spider and beyond…
The year 2025 is shaping up to be a monumental one for Ferrari. The iconic brand from Maranello is gearing up to launch its very first all-electric model, details of which are currently scarce. This marks a bold leap into the future for the prancing horse, which has long been synonymous with its powerful combustion engines. The 12Cilindri Spider and the F80 are testament to that legacy.
So, what else does Ferrari have in store for 2025? Let's dive into a rundown of all the models that will be significant in the upcoming year…
Ferrari F80
Ferrari F80
The delivery of the F80, which is set to carry on the legacy of its iconic predecessors – the F40, F50, Ferrari Enzo, and LaFerrari – will commence in 2025. Derived from the 499P, the champion of the last two Le Mans 24-hour races, the F80 features a hybrid powertrain. This system marries a 900 horsepower 3.0-liter V6 with three electric motors, delivering a combined output of 1,200 horsepower. This powerhouse enables the F80 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.15 seconds.
The F80 is set to be produced in a limited run of 799 units, which have all been pre-sold, with deliveries expected to start at the end of 2025. The cost for one of these exclusive vehicles starts at a whopping 3.6 million euros, and that's without any optional extras.
Ferrari 12-Cylinder Convertible
Ferrari 12-Cylinder Convertible
Starting in early 2025, the Ferrari 12Cilindri Spider will be delivered just like the coupé variant. This open-air version from Maranello will maintain the same features as its roofed counterpart, which includes a non-electrified (and non-turbocharged) 6.5-liter V12 engine with 830 horsepower and 678 Nm of torque.
The dimensions have remained consistent, and numerous design elements pay homage to classic Ferrari models, such as the 1967 365 GTB. Prospective owners looking to park the Spider in their garage must be ready to write a check for approximately 400,000 euros. Not to mention, there are limitless options for customization.
Electric Ferrari Concept
Motor1.com's Rendered Electric Ferrari Model
The long-anticipated electric Ferrari is set to launch at the end of 2025. Details are scarce (including the official name), but it's expected to retail at around 500,000 euros and feature the performance and handling characteristics typical of a Ferrari. It will be manufactured in the brand's new electric vehicle facility and will include an artificial sound reminiscent of a V12 engine.
Some spy videos have already given us a glimpse of it, and it appears to have proportions that might be similar to those of the Purosangue.
Ferrari 296 Special Edition
Ferrari 296 Grand Touring Berlinetta
Despite lacking official confirmation, there's speculation that Ferrari may unveil a new variant of the 296 GTB. This model could be a "Versione Speciale," designed with a stronger focus on track performance and featuring a more aggressive design. It may be produced in a limited series and equipped with an enhanced plug-in hybrid engine, offering more power than the standard model's version.
The basic model referred to here comprises a 2.9-liter V6 paired with an electric motor, which together deliver a total output of 830 horsepower. The cost of this special edition might exceed 350,000 euros.
Spy Shots of the 'New' Ferrari SF90
Undercover images of the latest Ferrari SF90 Stradale
Ferrari is in the process of developing a successor to the SF90 Stradale, which aims to secure its position as the second most powerful model in the lineup, trailing behind the F80. It is speculated that this upcoming vehicle may be named the 499 GTB, and it is expected to retain the characteristic design of a mid-engine model.
This latest Ferrari model is expected to retain the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine along with the plug-in hybrid setup, potentially exceeding the current SF90's 1,000 horsepower in total output. More details are anticipated during its reveal, which could occur in early 2025.

Persönlicher und Frischer: Der Kia Sportage 2025 Enthüllt Sein Neues Gesicht und Innenleben
To enhance a more individualized experience
This is what the updated Kia Sportage (2025) looks like after its makeover
The modifications are primarily to the front and interior
Kia's release events typically follow a specific pattern. Usually, the company first unveils the design of the latest model and shares initial details for its home market in South Korea. This initial phase has now been completed for the refreshed Kia Sportage, as the compact SUV showcasing a revamped front and redesigned interior is now visible in the initial images.
The facelift of the fifth generation Sportage is easily identifiable by its completely redesigned front end, which features a more rectangular grille and vertically aligned headlights. This redesign brings the SUV into a new visual harmony that echoes the aesthetics of its larger combustion engine counterpart, the Sorento, as well as the significantly larger fully electric EV9, and the new, smaller EV3. Similarly, the Picanto has previously received an update following this design trend.
Photo Gallery: The 2025 Kia Sportage for South Korea
At the rear end, there's not much alteration; the Sportage maintains its unique position within the model lineup, even with a redesigned bumper and updated LED taillight designs. For the record, there's also a fresh look for the wheel designs.
The interior of the revamped Kia boasts a redesigned dashboard with a more horizontal approach, featuring fresh air vents, a polygonal steering wheel with a modern look, and a sweeping panoramic screen that houses both the instrument cluster and the infotainment system, which operates on an updated software. The similarities within the model lineup, as previously mentioned, are apparent here as well. Additional features include foldable side mirrors, a 3D camera display, a highway lane change assistant, and an emergency braking system that is capable of detecting motorcycles.
2025 Kia Sportage Debuts in South Korea
In South Korea, the engines available include a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 180 horsepower, which is paired for the first time with an eight-speed automatic transmission featuring a torque converter. There's also a mild-hybrid version of this engine, still at 180 horsepower, but coupled with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. Both engine types come with the option of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Additionally, there is a dual-fuel gasoline/LPG option powered by a 2.0-liter engine with 146 horsepower, which comes with front-wheel drive, also available in the South Korean domestic market.
It is expected that full hybrid and plug-in hybrid models will be available in Germany, although it is not yet confirmed if the diesel mild-hybrid version will be included in the Sportage facelift. The date for the unveiling, along with relevant details, has not been disclosed. Similarly, any potential changes in pricing remain uncertain.

Kia: A Preview of What's Coming in 2025
Anticipated are the EV2 and a high-performance GT model of the EV9, along with a refreshed Sportage…
Kia's key electric vehicle breakthroughs for 2025 include the introduction of the EV2 and the EV9 GT. The EV2 aims to be Kia's most budget-friendly electric model, whereas the EV9 GT is set to be the brand's most powerful production vehicle to date.
Let's not overlook the much-anticipated redesign of the Sportage, which will revamp the appearance and interior of one of Europe's top-selling C-segment SUVs.
Kia EV2 as depicted by Motor1.com
The compact electric Kia is expected to measure about 4 meters in length, which is 30 centimeters less than the EV3, yet its 2.56-meter wheelbase should ensure a spacious interior. Anticipated are two battery alternatives: a 42-kWh battery using LFP technology and a larger 62-kWh NMC battery. These are projected to deliver a range of 300 kilometers and 440 kilometers respectively, according to the WLTP cycle.
The cost, which has yet to be revealed, is expected to fall in the range of 20,000 to 30,000 Euros, positioning it to compete with vehicles such as the Volkswagen ID.2, the Cupra Raval, and the Fiat Grande Panda.
The latest refresh for the 2025 Kia Sportage primarily focuses on the vehicle's front end, as is typical with mid-cycle refreshes. The new version features a front design that aligns with the aesthetic of current Kia offerings, such as the Sorento, EV9, and EV3. Additional updates include LED daytime running lights with a fresh lighting signature, a more streamlined grille, and a subtly updated bumper.
The 2025 model of the Kia Sportage is set for release in South Korea.
At the rear, the taillights feature a fresh design. There's also an upgraded bumper. It's expected that the existing powertrains will be maintained (information is currently only available for South Korea), as the compact SUV will continue to be offered with mild hybrid gasoline, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid options. Whether the diesel engine will remain available is yet to be confirmed.
Kia's Electric Vehicle Model EV9 GT
Kia's Model EV
Following the releases of 203 horsepower and 384 horsepower variants, the EV9 is set to add a more potent GT model to its lineup. While the aesthetic differences will be nuanced, significant changes are anticipated beneath the surface. With expectations aligning with the battery-powered seven-seater SUV to adopt the same dual-motor setup as the robust 585 horsepower EV6 GT, the larger size of the Kia could potentially push its power beyond 600 horsepower.
The GT is expected to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds, which is a mere half a second quicker than the EV6 GT. Though not yet confirmed, prices are anticipated to start at around 85,000 Euros.

Ford Enhances EV Journey with Google Maps Integration and Tesla Charger Access in Latest OTA Update
Ford enhances electric vehicle navigation by adding Tesla charger locations to Google Maps for Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning owners through a new software update delivered wirelessly.
Within the Android Auto suite, this functionality taps into car data to provide a forecasted battery status when reaching a destination, recommend locations for charging during a trip, and calculate the required time for recharging. Unveiled at the CES 2024 event in January, the feature is currently being released, as detailed by Ford's product manager, Anthony Phillips, in a recent LinkedIn update last week.
Ford provides electric vehicle (EV) route planning with Apple Maps through Apple CarPlay in its Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning models. Similar to Google's system, this feature utilizes data on the car's battery charge level and integrates functions for battery temperature preparation.
2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally Edition
The latest upgrade to Google Maps now displays locations of Tesla Supercharger sites, which are accessible to Ford electric vehicle users through the use of recently shipped adapters, though some adapters have already required replacements. Furthermore, when planning trips that involve direct current rapid-charging spots, the system will automatically prepare the battery pack for optimal charging when any of these posts are marked as a destination.
To utilize this function, drivers must ensure they have the latest Ford OTA update installed in their vehicles and the newest Google Maps update on their smartphones. After updating both, users can activate electric vehicle route planning by launching Android Auto.

Ford provides its proprietary navigation options alongside the trip planning functionalities of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
In 2018, Google initially introduced electric vehicle charging locations into its mapping application as simple markers. However, it wasn't until the beginning of 2023 that the tech giant unveiled enhanced details for these charging stations. This update permitted electric vehicles equipped with Google's integrated functionalities to share their battery level and estimated driving range, which is crucial for real-time navigation that incorporates charging pauses. This feature has predominantly been available to manufacturers that have adopted Google's infotainment platforms, such as Volvo, Polestar, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC.
In related news, Google unveiled its latest Gemini AI-powered Maps feature on Friday, which includes enhanced route planning capabilities. The tech giant also announced that this feature will soon be integrated into Rivian vehicles.
Google hints at introducing artificial intelligence-generated summaries in Rivian electric vehicles.
The technology behemoth highlighted its early capabilities in creating tailored graphical representations for electric vehicle charging stations, amenities, and other related features.
"In the upcoming month, Rivian plans to implement a new function that will display brief overviews of eateries, retail outlets, and grocery stores on their vehicle's entertainment systems, enabling motorists to swiftly gain insights about various locations," announced Google.
Ford has not provided Green Car Reports with feedback on how this latest development will affect the experience inside the vehicle, but it's evident that the company is one of the car manufacturers striving to equip motorists with ample data to simplify long-distance journeys.

2025 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV: Luxurious Electric Power at a Starting Price of $79,050
The 2025 model of the Mercedes-Benz EQE, available as an electric SUV, is priced at $79,050. For this model year, the EQE maintains its availability in both the sedan and SUV versions, with the SUV variant undergoing minimal updates.
The latest updates include the addition of standard rear-seat headrest pillows, an inter-front seat airbag, and the ability to use a digital key. Additionally, many versions now offer the option of front-seat headrest cushions and doors that close gently. Furthermore, a fresh paint option, Manufaktur Moonlight White Metallic, has been introduced to the color selection.
Mercedes-Benz is rolling out its 2025 EQE SUV lineup with several variations: the single-motor EQE 350+, the dual-motor EQE 350 4Matic and EQE 500 4Matic, along with a high-performance AMG EQE version. The EQE 350+ generates 288 horsepower and 417 pound-feet of torque, and the EQE 350 4Matic offers an elevated torque of 564 pound-feet.
2025 Model of Mercedes-Benz EQE, Categorized as
The EQE 500 4Matic elevates its dual-motor setup, boasting a total of 536 horsepower and 633 pound-feet of torque. In comparison, the AMG EQE takes performance to new heights with 677 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, achieving a sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. This is a significant improvement over the EQE 500 4Matic's 4.6-second run, the EQE 350 4Matic's 6.2 seconds, and the EQE 350+'s 6.3-second timeframe.
The upcoming 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan is set to get an upgraded battery pack that should increase its driving distance. However, it seems the EQE SUV will continue to use its current 108-kwh battery. The projected EPA range is anticipated to stay at 307 miles for the EQE 350+ with one motor, 282 miles for the all-wheel-drive EQE 500 4Matic, 265 miles for the all-wheel-drive EQE 350 4Matic, and 235 miles for the high-performance AMG EQE SUV.
Mercedes has its sights set on integrating the Tesla NACS connection in its upcoming vehicles. However, the current EQE SUV still features the CCS connection for charging. It supports rapid charging with a peak capacity of 170 kw, enabling a battery boost from 10% to 80% in just 32 minutes. Additionally, the SUV comes equipped with a 9.6-kw internal charger that can completely replenish the battery in 9.5 hours when plugged into a 240-volt outlet.
2025 Model SUV from Mercedes-Benz under the EQE Line
Debuting in the 2023 lineup, the EQE SUV represents the intermediate option within Mercedes' lineup of electric crossovers. Positioned between the EQB, which is the electric version of the GLB-Class, and the larger, 3-row EQS SUV, the EQE SUV saw enhancements to its regenerative braking system in the 2024 model year, a feature it has in common with both the EQE sedan and EQS variants.
The starting cost for the EQE 350+ and its all-wheel-drive counterpart, the EQE 350 4Matic, is set at $79,050, which includes a $1,150 charge for delivery. This figure remains the same as it was for the previous year's model. The EQE SUV, which is assembled in Alabama, was previously eligible for the federal electric vehicle tax incentive due to its price point. However, it has lost this eligibility in 2024 due to new regulations regarding the sourcing of battery materials. The higher-end models, the EQE 500 4Matic and the performance-focused AMG EQE, are on the market for $90,650 and $110,450, respectively.

Bentley’s Electrification Roadmap: From First EVs to Advanced Battery Tech by 2035
Bentley Chief: Next EV Development Stage Starts circa 2027, Subsequent Stage around 2035
Bentley's head honcho, Frank-Steffen Walliser, anticipates a swift evolution in electric vehicles as the company gears up to roll out its inaugural electric models.
In a recent discussion with Autocar, Walliser indicated that the automotive sector is nearing the completion of the initial stage of electric vehicle evolution. He anticipates that the next stage, projected to start by 2027, will serve as a transitional period. During this time, car manufacturers aim to expand the acceptance of electric vehicles while anticipating advancements in battery technology.

During the subsequent stage, consumers can expect enhanced battery capacity, extended driving distances, and improved functionality, Walliser noted. He acknowledged that some might argue the batteries are oversized, yet the added mileage will aid consumers in transitioning and overcoming their apprehension about distance limitations.
According to Walliser, the third phase is expected to begin around 2035, during which we will witness advancements in battery technology and the evolution of charging networks. This progress is anticipated to enable the use of less bulky battery packs, leading to lighter vehicles. It is at this juncture that Bentley might definitively decide to embrace electric vehicles on a permanent basis.
Bentley Continental GT Speed presented in the shade Gravity Grey.
In 2020, luxury carmaker Bentley announced its intention to transition its full range of vehicles to plug-in hybrids by 2026, with a goal to shift to fully electric models by 2030. However, in 2022, the company adjusted its timeline, revealing that its initial electric vehicle (EV), originally slated for a 2025 release, will now be unveiled in 2026 and is expected to hit the market in 2027.
The postponements align with management's pessimistic perspective on high-end electric vehicles. Previously, in an interview earlier in the year, Walliser mentioned that the market for luxury vehicles was not embracing electric variants.
Bentley has previously shown hesitation in fully committing to electric vehicles. They initiated conversations about electric models in 2016 and even presented two concept cars, but they retreated from the idea in 2019 after there was a shift at the top of their management structure.

Chevrolet Silverado EV Introduces Sidewinder: The Diagonal Driving Game-Changer
The electric Chevrolet Silverado will be equipped with a feature akin to the CrabWalk, which is currently exclusive to its GMC Sierra EV counterpart, as announced by Chevy on Friday.
Chevrolet has introduced a feature named Sidewinder, which mirrors the capabilities of what is known as CrabWalk. This function takes advantage of the rear-wheel steering system of the Silverado EV, enabling the vehicle to maneuver diagonally by turning all four wheels in a uniform direction. This can be done at velocities reaching 20 miles per hour.
2025 Chevy Silverado Electric Vehicle's Lateral Movement Feature
Motorists have the option to engage Sidewinder mode by navigating to the Rear Steering section found within the Controls menu on the vehicle's infotainment screen. Visual indicators on the screen, alongside a verification message within the dashboard gauges, will show up once the mode is turned on.
The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST comes equipped with Sidewinder mode, and this feature will also become available for the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST First Edition through an over-the-air software update. This update will be applicable to unsold 2024 models at dealerships as well as vehicles that have already been purchased, as confirmed by Chevy.
2025 Chevy Silverado Electric Vehicle
The initial introduction of the CrabWalk feature was seen in the GMC Hummer EV. It became a default feature on the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1, distinguishing it from its counterpart, the Silverado EV RST First Edition, which were the introductory limited editions of these models. This functionality will also be present in the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ SUV, under the name Cadillac Arrival Mode.
For the 2025 model year, the Silverado EV will see enhancements in its driving range, reaching up to 460 miles on the RST variant and 492 miles on the entry-level WT version when equipped with the expanded Max Range battery. Additionally, a fresh LT variant will be introduced, positioning itself in the lineup between the aforementioned models.

Sunlight enthüllt die neue Van-Serie 2024: Kompakte Abenteuerbegleiter für die individuelle Camping-Erfahrung
To enhance your experience with a more personal touch
Sunlight unveils new Van series for 2024
New vans with functional, compact layouts, perfect for camping and outdoor adventures in nature
The Allgäu-based motorhome manufacturer Sunlight is introducing its updated VAN series for the 2024 season. The compact semi-integrated models impress with their slim exterior dimensions, a well-conceived spatial design, and an appealing starting price.
The Sunlight Van series presents three distinct layouts, each with varying sleeping arrangements. The V60 model spans 5.95 meters and is equipped with a transverse double bed. In contrast, the V66 extends to 6.65 meters and features twin beds. The largest of the trio, the V69, measures 6.86 meters and boasts a queen-size bed that's 1.40 meters wide. All variants share a width of 2.14 meters, positioning them as a compelling choice over traditional panel van conversions. Their 3.80-meter wheelbase ensures that these vehicles offer excellent maneuverability.
Photo Gallery: Sunlight's Van Series (V60, V66, and V69) for the Model Year 2024
The entry-level version of the van series operates on a Citroën framework. The V60 model starts at a price of €52,999. The V66 and V69 models are available starting from €55,999. There is also an Adventure Edition of the models. This edition rides on a Fiat Ducato chassis and offers additional design choices and a broader range of features for a premium of nearly €3,000. Features of this edition include Adventure graphics, a window on the front hood, an extra external storage flap, a Thule sunshade, a triple bike rack, a living space door equipped with a fly screen, and much more.
Interior and Style
The styling of Sunlight's vans is characterized by simplicity and practicality. The interior embraces the "Sandbar" living environment, which is defined by its minimalist wooden decor and the omission of unnecessary adhesives or ornamental features. This restrained design approach contributes to a cozy living space that becomes particularly inviting during the colder seasons, promising relaxing evenings inside the van. The space within is efficiently arranged to maximize usability, offering ample storage and a snug yet comfortable area for sleeping and living during extended journeys.
Despite their compact exterior dimensions, these vans provide a spacious interior and ample storage space. Each vehicle comes with a sizeable rear garage capable of holding camping furniture, sports equipment, and other gear for extended trips. In every layout, the bathroom incorporates a foldable sink wall, allowing for versatile use as either a bathtub or shower. The kitchen area has been upgraded to include a three-burner stove with an electric ignition.
The vehicle's exterior has undergone changes as well. The rear light panel now has a more contemporary appearance. The exterior decals have been minimized, eliminating the red decorative elements and the Sunlight logo on the side panels.
Sunlight and Co.
The Sunlight V series shares a close relationship with the Carado V series and the Etrusco V series models. All three brands fall under the umbrella of the Erwin Hymer Group, sharing platforms and technology. Sunlight not only offers a standard version but also has special editions. For instance, the "XX Edition" comes with enhanced features and a unique design package. Another model with a similar structure that impressed us during testing is the Sunlight T 670 S. This semi-integrated vehicle, part of the Adventure Edition, accompanied us on our initial journey to Norway last year.
Additional Insights on Camping
The Sunlight Van series presents a functional and streamlined vehicle design that appeals to both camping novices and enthusiasts of the great outdoors. The vans are compact and agile, making them suitable for navigating tight roads and remote natural locations that would be challenging for larger motorhomes to access.
The Sunlight V-Series vans offer a versatile option for those who love to travel, boasting a durable base, sleek minimalist style, and a flexible interior layout. Their combination of practicality and simplicity makes them an appealing choice for both short trips and extended journeys.

VW Tayron (2025): Der neue Maßstab für 7-Sitzige Familien-SUVs

The 2025 VW Tayron: A Comprehensive Look at the Dimensions of the Successor to the 7-Seater Allspace
Spanning a length of 4.77 meters, this vehicle transcends being just another variant of the Tiguan, boasting a plethora of technology and space…
The VW Tayron represents more than just a 7-seater take on the Tiguan. Set to hit the market in the fall of 2024, the Tayron is built on the evolved MQB platform. This allows for configurations that include either standard front-wheel drive or an electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system.
Photo Gallery: VW Tayron (2025)
Regarding size, the VW Tayron has been extended by roughly 20 centimeters compared to the Tiguan to accommodate two extra seats in the trunk space. It's also slightly longer than its "cousin," the Skoda Kodiaq, despite sharing numerous technical elements with it. Let's delve into the specific dimensions of the Tayron…
Dimensions and Replacement
The latest VW Tayron is set to take over from the previous Tiguan Allspace, as one might easily anticipate. This model represents the new seven-seater, family-oriented iteration of the Tiguan, which has gained significant popularity in regions such as the United States and China. However, it's worth noting that the Tayron variants available in these locations vary from the European version.
The local Tayron measures in at a length of 4.77 meters, a width of 1.85 meters, and a height of 1.66 meters, positioning it closely to the upper end of the D-segment in size. It boasts a wheelbase of 2.79 meters, which is roughly 10 centimeters more than that of the Tiguan.
Space and Cargo Capacity
The engineers have successfully increased the space for rear passengers and the cargo capacity due to modifications made to the vehicle's length and wheelbase.
Primarily, the latter fluctuates (in the models equipped with traditional combustion engines or mild hybrids) from a capacity of 345 liters when configured with seven seats to a substantial 2,090 liters when the second row of seats is folded down in a five-seat setup; for the plug-in hybrid variant, known as eHybrid, these figures increase to 705 liters with five seats in use and reach up to 1,915 liters at maximum capacity.
Competitors of similar size
Volkswagen's latest offering, the Tayron, joins the ranks of the medium-sized SUVs equipped with seven seats. It faces stiff competition from a range of popular models that have been top sellers in recent years, with lengths ranging from 4.70 to 4.80 meters, such as:
