Jorge Lorenzo Revives MotoGP History: Riding the Legendary Cagiva 500 at Misano

Jorge Lorenzo took to the track at Misano today on a legendary MotoGP motorcycle.

The Cagiva 500 drew attention in Italy.

Today, Jorge Lorenzo is on a Cagiva 500 motorcycle at Misano.

The racer who has won the MotoGP championship three times will ride a few laps on a legendary motorcycle from the classic 500cc two-stroke era.

John Kocinski secured third place in the 1994 world championship riding the C594.

Kocinski's performance marks the highest achievement for the Cagiva brand in the championship's history.

The Cagiva was the leading European competitor against the top-performing brands Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki.

In 1992, Eddie Lawson secured victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix on a Cagiva motorcycle. Two years after that, Kocinski clinched a win in Australia on the same model of bike that Lorenzo is currently using.

It continues to be a remarkable and stunning symbol of the sport's history.

At the Marco Simoncelli track today, Lorenzo is unveiling the old motorcycle.

He is participating in Proday, an event that connected motorcycle fans with champions such as Lorenzo.

Marco Melandri, Marco Lucchinelli, Dario Marchetti, and Mattia Casadei are participating in the event.

Giovanni Castiglioni, a member of the family that currently owns Cagiva and a collaborator at sponsor Vmoto, expressed his excitement when Graziano Milone, the head of Vmoto, suggested showcasing the Cagiva 500 GP at Proday.

“It’s exciting to witness a family creation return to the track under the leadership of a five-time world champion, and I’m grateful to Proday and Vmoto for this fantastic effort.”
