This weekend, Jack Miller is set to take part in a motocross competition in Australia.
The summer hiatus in MotoGP has given Miller the chance to return to his hometown and engage in a different kind of motorcycle competition.
He is set to compete in the ProMX Championship at Echo Valley, Toowoomba, on Sunday, July 21.
"It was a bit impulsive for me to hop on the dirt bike at a national event," Miller told Speedcafe.
During the MotoGP 'Summer Break,' Jack Miller is making his way to Toowoomba, Queensland. There, he will compete against Australia's top MX1 riders in the sixth round of the Aus ProMX Championship this weekend. Miller remarked that it was a somewhat spur-of-the-moment decision to participate in a national-level motocross event.
"True to my usual habit of doing things at the last moment, I decided to give it a try."
"I've been following the series attentively this year, and it has left a strong impression on me."
"It’s fantastic to provide my partners with extra value through these special, unique events that take place outside the MotoGP track, and I also get personal enjoyment from riding dirt bikes."
"Grateful for Franko and my collaborators for their assistance in bringing this project to fruition. Looking forward to seeing everyone in the valley on Sunday."
Miller is set to compete in two 25-minute races on Sunday in the MX1 division.
Kyle Webster, Jed Beaton, and Nathan Crawford are some of his rivals.
According to Fox Motorsports, Miller is set to compete on a KTM 450 SX-F motorcycle, sponsored by Caterpillar and supported by Thriller Motorsports.
Miller's MotoGP season picks up again from August 2 to 4 at Silverstone.
Taking a break in his home country this weekend serves as a diversion from the crucial task of regaining his performance in MotoGP and securing a new team to continue his career in the top-tier competition.
Pedro Acosta is set to take Miller's place in KTM's factory team.
He anticipated being offered a position with Tech3 but said he was told over the phone that this would not be the case, just an hour before the team officially announced Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini as their riders for 2025.
Miller has several choices for next season: joining the new Pramac Yamaha team, moving to Trackhouse Aprilia, or signing with Gresini Ducati.
