'Citizens demand swift responses': Harriet Harman advocates for deadlines on public inquiries

Recently, the Home Secretary declared an official investigation into the Southport incidents, amidst other continuing inquiries.

Harriet Harman has stated that the government ought to impose time restrictions on public inquiries to prevent them from dragging on indefinitely.

During a discussion on the Electoral Dysfunction podcast, the Labour peer expressed to Sky's political editor Beth Rigby that it is entirely feasible for them to efficiently perform their duties.

Following the announcement of an investigation into the Southport incident by Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, Ms. Harman stated that the inquiry should last no longer than 18 months.

Numerous public investigations are currently active, such as the Post Office Horizon IT investigation, the contaminated blood investigation, and the COVID-19 investigation.

The investigation into the false convictions of numerous postmasters and postmistresses, triggered by defective computer systems, commenced in 2020. It was expanded in 2021 with the authority to summon witnesses and requisition documents. The inquiry is ongoing.

To answer your first question, I would recommend filtering through the news articles on the AI News Politics site. This will give you an idea of what is being talked about on the site. You could also click on the 'Latest Stories' tab and see what is happening there. If you click on the 'Topics' tab you can see what is being discussed on the site.

As to the second question, if you're looking for methods of automated news analysis then you should look at NLU (Natural Language Understanding) and NLP (Natural Language Processing). There are a lot of resources on this subject so I suggest doing a Google search using these keywords.
