Professional footballers and their penchant for luxury vehicles. By the 1970s, the image of star athletes flaunting their flashy cars had become commonplace. Günther Netzer was often seen with his cherished Ferrari Dino, while Franz Beckenbauer preferred his BMW 2800 CS.

Despite some soccer players having a more varied collection of personal vehicles, Audi has been facilitating the official commute of FC Bayern players to their training grounds at Säbener Straße in Munich since 2002. The Ingolstadt-based company has recently handed over the company cars to the champions' squad for the 2024/25 season.

What are the superstar gentlemen driving these days? Top forward Harry Kane, who personally has a preference for British car makers with his private collection of a Jaguar F-Type, Range Rover SV Autobiography, and Bentley Continental GT Supersports, is now behind the wheel of an Audi SQ8 SUV e-tron. The same choice has been made by the German national team captain Joshua Kimmich, head coach Vincent Kompany, and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

The Audi RS e-tron GT performance was apparently a popular choice as well. Thomas Müller, Konrad Laimer, and Leon Goretzka all opted for the electric sports car. Jamal Musiala and Aleksandar Pavlović, on the other hand, went for a more subdued approach with the Audi Q6 SUV e-tron and Audi Q4 e-tron.

Since 2020, FC Bayern's entire fleet has been comprised solely of electric vehicles. Audi CEO and FC Bayern board member Gernot Döllner stated, "As we move towards an electric future, FC Bayern's players play a crucial role in promoting our all-electric models and attracting interest in electric mobility. Our vehicles match the professional footballers' dynamism in every aspect."

The focus of the collaboration between FC Bayern and Audi is on strategic cooperation in innovation and electrification. At the club's Säbener Straße facility, players have access to a total of 38 charging stations. Together, Audi and FC Bayern have already established over 50 charging options at the Allianz Arena.

Soccer Players and Their Vehicles:

The reigning champions' women's team also obtained their company cars. Audi has been backing the FC Bayern women's squad since 2021. By early 2024, the youth development program joined the partnership, meaning the Ingolstadt-based company, a shareholder since 2011, now provides comprehensive support to FC Bayern's elite men's, women's, and youth teams.

Furthermore, starting now, the FC Bayern Munich App can be downloaded from the Audi Application Store for select models. This app has been tailored for in-car use and provides updates on the latest news or scores through the Multi Media Interface (MMI). During matches, fans can also tune into FC Bayern's web radio, in addition to accessing live updates, match reports, statistics, and schedules.
