Fabio Quartararo’s Optimism Fuels Yamaha’s Mid-Season Revival Hopes
Fabio Quartararo provides optimism for Yamaha: "We understand the areas for improvement"
Fabio Quartararo stated, "We recognize where enhancements are needed. I believe the latter half of the season will see better performance, and I am confident that we will make progress."
Fabio Quartararo is optimistic about Yamaha's progress even after facing challenges at the German MotoGP held at Sachsenring.
In the 2022 MotoGP, where he last claimed victory, Quartararo finished in 11th place at the conclusion of Sunday’s 30-lap race.
Although the 2021 world champion did not secure a top ten finish, they found numerous encouraging aspects as they moved into the latter half of the year.
Quartararo commented that the Grand Prix was challenging, but today's performance exceeded his expectations. He mentioned that they struggled initially with the new tires, but ultimately, he finished with a similar gap to the winner as he did in the previous day's Sprint, which he considered to be quite positive.
"We are aware of our areas for improvement. I believe that the latter half of the season will show better results, and I am confident that we will make progress."
"We've advanced since the beginning of the year. Although our efforts aren't reflected in the results yet, we're diligently working, and we hope the progress will become evident soon."
In his comeback to MotoGP, Remy Gardner secured the 19th position and delivered an impressive performance while filling in for Alex Rins.
Following adjustments made after the sprint race, Gardner noticed significant enhancements during the warm-up, which continued into the grand prix.
"We adjusted the settings to enhance my connection with the bike," Gardner stated. "I noticed a change during the Warm Up, and I believed we could perform well in the Race."
The speed up to the 10th lap was excellent. I was competing with Zarco and Bradl, aiming to catch Mir, and I managed to stay ahead of Bradl for 8 or 9 laps, which was positive.
"I wasn't sure how to handle the rear tire's wear during the final 10 laps, but that comes with more practice."
"However, when comparing my speed with the medium rear tires between yesterday's Sprint and today's Race, my pace today is significantly improved."
"I hope my feedback was valuable and offered a fresh perspective, and I trust Yamaha can gain some benefits from it."
