Russia's aggressive conflict with Ukraine

At 9:00 AM, leaders of various political factions will deliver speeches on the importance of the EU's ongoing assistance to Ukraine. This will be followed by a vote at 12:30 PM on a resolution that outlines the stance of the newly elected Parliament regarding the conflict with Russia. As Russia escalates its attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, members of the European Parliament are anticipated to reiterate their firm backing for Ukraine.

Selection of Parliament’s Quaestors

After the election of the European Parliament President and 14 Vice-Presidents yesterday, Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) will vote at 10:00 AM to select five Quaestors. These Quaestors will handle administrative issues that impact MEPs, thereby forming the Parliament’s Bureau for the upcoming two and a half years.

Establishing Parliamentary Committees and Delegations

At 12:30 PM, Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) are set to cast their votes on a suggestion from the Conference of Presidents—which includes the President and leaders of political groups—regarding the composition and number of Parliament’s permanent committees and interparliamentary delegations. The names of the MEPs assigned to each committee, a decision made internally by the political groups and independent members, will be revealed on Friday at 9:00 AM.
