Devastation in Japan: Alex Rins Faces Hard Reality as Yamaha Struggles at MotoGP
Alex Rins is overwhelmed and at a loss for words.
"I'm completely heartbroken. My heart was racing at 190 beats per minute during every lap, and I gave it everything I had. It was incredibly challenging."
Although Alex Rins managed to steer clear of the fuel issues that plagued his teammate Fabio Quartararo towards the end of the race, he was nearly at a loss for words after ending the Japanese MotoGP, which is Yamaha's home event, in 16th place and outside the points.
Rins finished a substantial 40.1 seconds behind the race victor, Francesco Bagnaia, managing to place ahead of just Yamaha's wild-card entrant, Remy Gardner.

Rins expressed his dismay after a challenging race, saying, "It was incredibly tough. I'm at a loss for words. My heart rate was at 190 for the entire race, and I gave it everything I had. It was extremely difficult."
The initial segment of the race went fairly well. We began today using the setup from Austria to determine if we could enhance our braking performance. Specifically, we wanted to see if we could achieve better contact at the rear.
"The situation improved slightly, allowing me to get a better feel for the bike. However, once the tire began to lose grip, managing the spin became nearly unmanageable."
"While riding on the straight path after coming out of turns 9 and 10, I experienced spinning despite the bike being upright. It seemed that the tire was slightly flat in the middle."
"I'm at a loss for words. We must discover a solution because this isn't the right path. I'm dissatisfied with the progress we are making."
At the conclusion of Sunday's race, Quartararo slipped to twelfth position, trailing by more than 30 seconds behind the victor, Francesco Bagnaia.
Following indications of improvement at Misano, where Quartararo was set to finish fifth and was within 20 seconds of the leader before his fuel ran out, Rins commented that the event at Motegi highlighted the challenging reality faced by Yamaha.
Rins expressed that Misano holds the same significance for Fabio as Austin does for him. He mentioned that Fabio was incredibly quick there and highlighted the series of events they participated in, which included a test, a race, another test, and then another race.
"In my opinion, the outcome at Misano wasn't genuine."
At the moment, when you exclude the Ducatis, Aprilias, and KTMs, Nakagami, using a soft rear tire, was significantly quicker than Fabio and Zarco during the final laps.
"When Marini passed me, I couldn't keep up with him."
"This is the truth, the difficult truth."
Rins currently holds the 19th position in the world championship standings, sharing 20 points with Joan Mir from Repsol Honda.
