Jeremy Corbyn has successfully secured his parliamentary seat in Islington North as an independent candidate.
The previous leader of the Labour Party secured a win with over 24,000 votes, surpassing Labour candidate Praful Nargund who garnered over 16,000 votes.
This will be greatly reassuring to Mr. Corbyn, who has served as the MP for the north London area for four decades.
Addressing the audience at the vote tally, he expressed, "I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the residents of Islington North for choosing me for the 11th time."
The electoral outcome for the seat remained uncertain, as initial exit polls from the general election indicated it was a tight race.
