BMW’s Vision für 2025: Der neue iX3 führt die Elektrowende an, begleitet von einem frischen 2er Gran Coupé und 7er Facelift
BMW: A Preview of the 2025 New Arrivals
The premiere of the fresh iX3 is a key attraction, complemented by the release of the 2 Series Gran Coupe and the significant makeover of the 7 Series.
BMW is gearing up for some major updates. The year 2025 is set to be pivotal for the brand's electric vehicle rollout with the launch of the new iX3, which is expected to rank among the top battery-powered SUVs in its category.
It's constructed using the latest New Class framework and guarantees improved performance due to advanced, more efficient battery technology. Moreover, the revamped 2 Series Gran Coupé and a refreshed 7 Series are also on the horizon.
The upcoming 2025 model of the BMW iX3 is anticipated to showcase a complete departure in styling from the traditional X3 model. Early spy shots reveal that the SUV's front appearance draws inspiration from the Vision Neue Klasse X concept, featuring prominent horizontal headlights and the iconic double kidney grille that BMW is renowned for.

Regarding the battery technology, the inaugural model from the Neue Klasse could utilize BMW's sixth-generation batteries featuring cylindrical cells. These cells are expected to enhance driving range and charging rates by 30% compared to the existing battery technology. With a uniform diameter of 46 millimeters, they provide superior energy density which negates the need for excessively large and heavy battery units.
The electric SUV will not be manufactured in China like the current iX3 but will rather be assembled in a new factory located in Debrecen, Hungary. Its launch in Europe is scheduled for the latter part of 2025, with initial offerings to include the 40, 40 xDrive, 50 xDrive, and M60 xDrive models. Additionally, there are plans to introduce an M version, labeled as "ZA5," in the foreseeable future.
The upcoming 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé
Just like the existing version, the revamped 2 Series Gran Coupé will have numerous features in common with the 1 Series lineup. It will sport a largely similar design, now updated with fresh LED headlights at the front and rear, and a more understated front grille. Additionally, BMW has significantly toned down the rear design.

The interior design follows a similar approach: The 2 Series Gran Coupe adopts the dual-screen setup with a 10.25-inch and a 10.7-inch display side by side. The range of engines includes the diesel variants 118d (non-electric) with 150 horsepower and 120d (mild-hybrid) with 163 horsepower, the mild-hybrid gasoline model 120 with 170 horsepower, and the M135i xDrive with 301 horsepower, all of which are linked to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
BMW 7 Series Revamp
Despite the current appeal of the 7 Series design, BMW appears poised to introduce an initial mid-cycle refresh. The initial versions were spotted in prototype form last summer, and the production model is anticipated to debut in the latter half of 2025.

The modifications are expected to be purely cosmetic, featuring a more rounded design for the headlights, along with new styles for the wheels and body color options. Inside, an update to the digital dashboard's graphics is anticipated, whereas predicting alterations to the powertrain is challenging for both the combustion engine and electric model variants.
