Audi Unveils Fashion-Forward Q6 Sportback E-Tron: The Sleeker, More Stylish Electric SUV Set for 2025 U.S. Arrival

Audi launched a stylish electric SUV variant, the Q6 Sportback E-Tron, on Sunday evening, continuing its trend of fashion-forward electric vehicles.

The anticipated arrival of the Q6 Sportback E-Tron in the United States is set for 2025. This model comes after the regular Q6 E-Tron, which is expected to hit U.S. car dealers before this year concludes. It will be the inaugural Audi model to be built on the innovative Premium Platform Electric (PPE), a platform that it has in common with the electric version of the Porsche Macan.

Similar to its predecessors in the Audi Sportback SUV line, the primary distinction between the Q6 Sportback E-Tron and the regular Q6 E-Tron is the design of the exterior. The Sportback features a roof that's reduced by 1.4 inches in height and a wheelbase that is extended by 0.4 inch, measuring 114.1 inches. However, the width and the total length remain unchanged, as do the majority of the other design elements.

The standard Q6 E-Tron's battery capacity of 100 kWh, with 94.4 kWh available for use, is retained in the new model. Official performance metrics for the American market will be confirmed as the release date approaches. Currently, Audi has disclosed information only about the dual-motor configurations for the Q6 and the more powerful S6, which boast top outputs of 456 horsepower and 609 horsepower, respectively. These figures are consistent with those of the regular Q6 and SQ6 models. Additionally, Audi plans to introduce a variant with a single motor in the regular body design.

The official EPA assessments for the Audi models will be confirmed nearer to their release date. However, Audi anticipates that the Sportback versions will provide approximately 300 miles on a single charge. The base Q6 E-Tron is projected to deliver 321 miles with a single motor setup, 307 miles with two motors, and the SQ6 variant is expected to achieve 275 miles of range.

The redesign might compromise the space for passengers' heads in the back and the area for luggage, but at the front, the Q6 Sportback E-Tron keeps the same triple-screen setup as other variants. This includes a digital display for the driver that measures 11.9 inches, a central touchscreen for entertainment that's 14.5 inches, and an additional 10.9-inch screen specifically for the person in the front passenger seat.

The Sportback model of the Q6 E-Tron is now part of Audi's lineup, alongside the Sportback variant of the base Q4 E-Tron. In 2025, the Q4 E-Tron will see enhancements in its powertrain for increased performance and driving distance. The Q8 E-Tron also bears the Sportback tag. Moreover, the A6 Sportback E-Tron, which shares the PPE platform, is set to launch in North America in the upcoming spring or summer season.
