Franco Morbidelli’s Battle Back: Overcoming Memory Loss After Devastating Crash
Franco Morbidelli’s terrifying accident: “I forgot the names of the other racers”
Franco Morbidelli shares his frightening experience with memory loss
Franco Morbidelli has opened up about his frightening experience of losing his memory following a crash earlier this year.
Franco Morbidelli's year got off to a disastrous beginning when he suffered a crash while riding a Panigale V4 during a test session at Portimao.
Marc Marquez and Alex Marquez arrived quickly at the site where Morbidelli had lost consciousness.
The Pramac Ducati motorcycle racer was unable to participate in the official preseason MotoGP testing sessions. Consequently, it took him some time to reach his full performance level once the racing season began.
Recently, Morbidelli disclosed how severe his injuries actually are.
In an interview with Gazzetta, he admitted, "I was uncertain about returning to my former self after experiencing such a setback."
"I experienced a very unusual phase where I couldn't recall important details."
"I had forgotten what my mother-in-law was called, and I couldn't recall the names of a lot of my adversaries either."
"The physicians advised me to stay calm, assuring me that everything was typical. After that, the situation genuinely began to get better."
The head of Pramac, Paolo Campinoti, remarked to Morbidelli, "Not long ago, you appeared defeated, but now your face shows a strong eagerness to compete."
Morbidelli expressed, "I've returned to competing for exciting spots, and we're enjoying ourselves."
In the last three grand prix races, Morbidelli has achieved two fourth-place finishes and one fifth-place finish.
Next year, instead of sticking with Pramac as they switch from Ducati to Yamaha, he will become part of the VR46 team.
Campinoti confessed that he would have chosen to retain him.
The head of Pramac mentioned that it is important for him to secure a victory, as it would bring closure and allow him to part ways with us on a high note. In his opinion, achieving this at Valencia would be ideal.
