2024 MotoGP Calendar Shake-Up: Argentina and India Cancellations Lead to Revised Schedule
2024 MotoGP Schedule: New Dates and Venues Announced
The 2024 MotoGP schedule has been reduced to 22 rounds following the cancellation of the Argentina event.
The event scheduled at Termas de Rio Hondo from April 5 to April 7, intended to be the third round of the season, has been canceled, allegedly because of government budget reductions.
The Indian MotoGP event was postponed and is now scheduled to return in early 2025.
The Kazakhstan MotoGP, originally postponed, was eventually canceled and replaced by a second race at Misano. This new event is called the Emilia-Romagna MotoGP, resulting in back-to-back races at Misano.
The season will maintain its strategy of organizing races by geographic regions.
Before the summer vacation, there are ten rounds, and afterward, there are eleven.
The season will kick off in Qatar on March 10, followed by the second round in Portugal two weeks later.
Portugal and India need to finalize their agreements before they can be officially confirmed.
The first race following the summer hiatus will take place at Silverstone.
In the latter half of 2024, there will be two sets of three consecutive races: the first in Emilia-Romagna, Indonesia, and Japan, followed by another in Australia, Thailand, and Malaysia.
The season is set to end on November 17 in Valencia.
