Yamaha Steals the Spotlight with Striking Livery as MotoGP Celebrates 75th Anniversary
Unique livery alteration labeled "distinctive and thrilling" as Yamaha takes center stage
To mark the 75th anniversary of the world championship, 23 MotoGP bikes will sport new liveries this weekend.
On Thursday, all 11 MotoGP teams unveiled their special livery designs for the British Grand Prix.
A project launched by Dorna to commemorate 75 years of world championship racing has been well-received by fans, teams, and riders alike.
Francesco Bagnaia expressed his satisfaction with Ducati's livery that harks back to 2003 and also acknowledged Yamaha and Honda for their vintage designs.
"I'm really pleased that Dorna came up with this concept," stated Bagnaia. "It's wonderful to look at all the historical liveries and some fresh designs. It's fantastic."
"I prefer the old designs because, in my opinion, they appear more timeless and polished."
"It's challenging for us to clearly see the design due to the sponsors. However, the design on Yamaha and Honda bikes looks fantastic."
"I prefer the Yamaha because it has excellent clarity. I hope to see more concepts like this moving forward."
A standout design was the Gresini Ducati livery, created to honor the team's founder, Fausto Gresini.
Marc Marquez commented, "Our design is incredibly unique. It features a retro style that dates back to 1987 and is inspired by Fausto's gallery."
"It's a heartfelt design and a passionate paint scheme. We aim to have a successful Sunday showcasing those colors."
Finally, Yamaha garnered significant accolades from fellow riders for their white paint scheme.
However, the cyclists themselves were also impressed by the color design.
Alex Rins stated, "I was determined to fully recover in time for this race weekend because I couldn't afford to miss it!"
"I’m really fond of this new design along with my coordinating leathers and helmet! I hope the fans enjoy it as much as I do."
Enthusiastic about Yamaha's latest design, Fabio Quartararo described it as "unique and thrilling".
"The 2021 MotoGP champion remarked, 'Today's event was wonderful and provided an exciting preview of what we can expect on Sunday.'"
"The bicycle has an attractive appearance, and I am eager to ride it while donning my uniquely colored leathers and helmet – it will create a one-of-a-kind experience."
"I believe the audience will truly appreciate this occasion as it offers a unique and thrilling experience."
