Vinales Identifies Key Sector for Improvement at Aragon MotoGP Amid Promising Start
Maverick Vinales highlights crucial aspect for enhancement at Aragon MotoGP
During Friday's sessions at the Aragon MotoGP, Maverick Vinales had a strong performance, but he needs to make some improvements to contend for the win.
Maverick Vinales secured a respectable third position during the practice session at the Aragon MotoGP, but he acknowledged that there's still room for improvement.
Vinales believed that he needed to make progress in one specific part of the track, sector four, which begins after turn 15 and extends to the finish line.
"The day has gone well, to be honest," Vinales shared with MotoGP.com. "In some way, I felt I could be really quick in a single lap, but I need to work on my consistency, especially in the fourth sector."
“I’m aiming to focus intensely and figure out ways to enhance our performance. We recognize that we fell short in certain areas of the fourth sector. However, if we can make improvements in that regard, I believe we can contend for the top positions.”
On Friday, much of the discussion centered around the newly laid asphalt in Aragon, which surprisingly offered less grip than expected for a new track surface.
“It’s quite fascinating when you transition to a different surface because the dynamics change, bringing everyone closer together, so we’ll have to evaluate tomorrow,” Vinales shared. “I recall that in Austin, we made significant progress from Friday to Saturday, so we should approach it similarly and see what we can accomplish.”
Vinales believed he could be one of the leading competitors in Aragon, yet he was confident about which rider is the one to defeat at MotorLand.
He stated that without a doubt, Marc Marquez will be the one to defeat, and added that he believes they have a chance to compete.
