Verstappen Widens Lead in F1 Championship Amid Austrian GP Drama: Updated Standings and Highlights
Revised standings in the F1 drivers' and constructors' world championship following the 2024 Austrian Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen widened his advantage in the Formula 1 drivers' standings, even after a collision with Lando Norris during their fight for the top spot at the Austrian Grand Prix. Verstappen was able to proceed, but Norris had to withdraw later on.
Charles Leclerc was unable to earn any points due to sustaining damage in the race's initial lap.
Following the Austrian Grand Prix, Red Bull has established a 64-point lead over Ferrari in the Formula 1 constructors' standings. McLaren occupies the third position, with Mercedes narrowing the gap after securing their first win since 2022.
Haas experienced a significant day, securing a large number of points that propelled them ahead of Alpine, placing them seventh in the overall standings.
