Verstappen Dominates US GP Sprint: Extends F1 Lead as Norris Battles to Third
Max Verstappen extends his lead in the Formula 1 championship by winning the sprint race at the United States Grand Prix, with Lando Norris finishing in third place.
Max Verstappen increased his advantage in the F1 championship standings against his competitor, Lando Norris, by securing a composed win in the sprint race at the United States Grand Prix.
The Red Bull racer, who is the current world champion, appeared unchallenged as he cruised to an easy win, preserving his streak of triumphing in all four sprint races held this year.

In a dramatic final lap, Carlos Sainz made a powerful move to overtake Norris, securing second place and importantly depriving the Briton of a point. Norris had initially made an impressive start, gaining two positions as the race began.
Norris successfully kept Charles Leclerc's second Ferrari at bay to secure third place, even though he came close to a collision with the driver from Monaco in a tense exchange near the conclusion of the 19-lap race.
Max Verstappen achieved his 11th victory in a sprint race since the introduction of the format in 2021, allowing him to extend his lead over Lando Norris by an additional two points. With six grand prix events and two sprint races left on the calendar, Verstappen's lead stands at 54 points.
At the beginning of the race, George Russell fell behind and faced difficulties with his tires, which caused him to drop to fifth place. He managed to stay just in front of his Mercedes teammate, Lewis Hamilton, who has won the world championship seven
Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg finished in seventh and eighth positions, respectively, earning points for their team. This performance allowed Haas to catch up with their midfield competitors, RB, in the race for sixth place in the constructors' championship.
Sergio Perez, driving for Red Bull, fell short of scoring points by finishing in ninth place, whereas Oscar Piastri of McLaren managed to climb from 16th position to secure a 10th place finish.
The qualification round for the United States Grand Prix on Sunday is scheduled to begin at 11 p.m. British Summer Time.
