Television segment reveals conversations with Joe Roberts as rumors swirl around who will fill the additional Trackhouse slot
The Trackhouse MotoGP team has solidified one half of its lineup for 2025, yet there's still considerable speculation regarding who will team up with Raul Fernandez.
The satellite team for Aprilia, which launched its operations in 2024 following the dissolution of the former RNF team, has recently confirmed the extension of Fernandez's contract until the conclusion of 2026.
Throughout the year, there has been widespread speculation that the team owned by Americans might elevate Joe Roberts from Moto2 to their roster for the 2025 season.
Certainly, over the Dutch Grand Prix weekend, TNT Sport produced a segment featuring an interview with Trackhouse's team leader Davide Brivio, which aired during the British GP, revealing conversations with Roberts.
"Brivio inquired of the Californian, 'If winning the championship makes you 'X', and coming in second also makes you 'X', what are your thoughts on MotoGP? Do you consider yourself prepared?'"
"Roberts expressed eagerness and self-assurance, stating he is prepared to handle any motorcycle at this moment."
In the lead-up to the recent British Grand Prix, there were emerging reports suggesting that Ai Ogura, who is competing closely with Roberts for the Moto2 championship, is poised to join Trackhouse for the upcoming season. Additionally, there were rumors about Jack Miller, who is parting ways with KTM, being associated with the move.
John Hopkins, serving as a rider coach for the American Racing Moto2 team, declined to discuss rumors suggesting that the prospects for Roberts' Trackhouse now seem distant.

"Frankly, I'd rather not discuss that at the moment," Hopkins stated to motogp.com at the British Grand Prix.

"Joe remains undeterred in his ambition to reach the Grand Prix. Our priority is to secure as many victories as possible and clinch the championship for our team."
Joe consistently carries an attitude of determination and extra incentive for various reasons.
"He's simply proceeding with what he's familiar with. It's extra inspiration for him, yet he's maintaining his concentration."
Since the 2006 world champion Nicky Hayden's final season in 2015 with the Aspar team, MotoGP has been without a permanent American rider on the starting lineup.
The most recent participation of an American racer in the top-tier racing category occurred during the 2021 Dutch GP, where World Superbike competitor Garrett Gerloff filled in for the hurt Franco Morbidelli at Petronas SRT Yamaha.
Following the completion of 10 races in 2024, Roberts currently holds the third position in the rankings, having achieved three podium finishes and one victory, trailing Sergio Garcia by 37 points.
Roberts was absent from the Dutch Grand Prix because of an injury and had an accident during the British Grand Prix, causing him to exit the
