Trackhouse Bids Farewell to Miguel Oliveira as Ai Ogura Joins for 2025 MotoGP Season
Trackhouse expresses gratitude towards Miguel Oliveira, stating it's unfortunate to separate. Davide Brivio remarked, "It's regrettable that we must make the decision to go our separate ways at the year's end."
The 2025 contract for Ai Ogura with Trackhouse MotoGP also indicates that Miguel Oliveira will depart from the American team after this season.
Miguel Oliveira, who had previously won five races with KTM, transferred to the RNF team for their inaugural 2022 season with Aprilia. Despite facing injuries, he managed to achieve a top finish of fourth place.
The team's shift to 'Trackhouse' during the winter led to Oliveira being upgraded to a 2024 RS-GP. However, aside from securing a front row start and a Sprint podium at Sachsenring, he has struggled to maximize the potential of the factory equipment.
It is almost guaranteed that the Portuguese rider will be part of the new Pramac Yamaha team in 2025.
“Thank you, Miguel. Although our time together has been brief, we have had the chance to recognize and value Miguel’s skill, experience, and dedication to the team,” stated Davide Brivio, the principal of Trackhouse.
"It's unfortunate to make the choice to separate at the year's end, but since we haven't fully utilized Miguel's capabilities with this Aprilia, it's premature for us to say 'thank you' now."
"With numerous races ahead offering chances for strong performances, our aim is to stay focused, end the season on a positive note, and then, hopefully, take the time to celebrate our achievements and the moments we've shared, expressing our gratitude to Miguel."
“But that will happen – in the future….”
Team Owner Justin Marks expressed his appreciation, saying, "At Trackhouse, we hold Miguel's hard work and dedication in high regard, especially during our inaugural year in MotoGP."
"His readiness to collaborate with the new owners and maximize the performance of the Aprilia RS-GP24 this season has been extremely beneficial as Trackhouse solidifies its position in the championship."
“We hope for his success in 2025 and the years that follow. We also anticipate a strong finish to the 2024 season.”
Trackhouse started this year with Raul Fernandez, Oliveira's teammate, riding a bike that was one year old. Next season, both Fernandez and Ogura will be equipped with the newest 2025-spec RS-GPs.
With Oliveira's departure, Fernandez remains the sole rider on an Aprilia, while the factory team introduces a completely new lineup featuring Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi.
