Trackhouse Bids Farewell to Miguel Oliveira: A Pivotal Transition Ahead for the MotoGP Team
Trackhouse expresses gratitude to Miguel Oliveira, regrets ending partnership
Davide Brivio comments, "It's regrettable that we find ourselves needing to end our collaboration after this year."
Ai Ogura's signing for the 2025 season with Trackhouse MotoGP also signifies that Miguel Oliveira will be parting ways with the US-based team after the current season concludes.
Having secured victory in five races with KTM, Oliveira transitioned to the RNF squad, which was making its first appearance in the 2022 season with Aprilia. Despite facing setbacks due to injuries, he achieved a top finish of fourth place during the season.
During the team's switch to 'Trackhouse' in the winter, Oliveira was upgraded to a 2024 RS-GP. However, apart from an impressive performance that led to a front row position and a Sprint podium finish at Sachsenring, he has struggled to maximize the potential of the factory equipment.
It's almost guaranteed that the Portuguese rider will become a part of Pramac Yamaha's new initiative for 2025.
"Appreciation to Miguel from us – despite the brief period we've shared, Miguel’s skill, expertise, and professional demeanor within the Team have been evident and valued," stated Trackhouse team leader Davide Brivio.
"Regrettably, we find ourselves needing to separate at the year's close, yet considering we haven't fully tapped into Miguel's capabilities with the Aprilia, it's premature for us to express our gratitude at this juncture."
"With the increased number of races offering the chance to achieve notable outcomes, our goal is to stay focused, aim to conclude this season on a positive note, and then, hopefully, we will have the opportunity to properly celebrate our accomplishments and the moments we've shared, and to express our gratitude to Miguel."
"However, that will happen in due time, further down the line…."
Justin Marks, the Team Owner, expressed: "At Trackhouse, we greatly appreciate Miguel's dedication and hard work throughout our inaugural year in MotoGP.
"His eagerness to collaborate with the new owners and maximize the performance of the Aprilia RS-GP24 this year has greatly assisted Trackhouse in making its mark in the championship."
"We hope for his utmost success in 2025 and the years that follow, eagerly anticipating ongoing achievements as we conclude the 2024 season."
At the start of this year, Trackhouse kicked off with Oliveira's colleague, Raul Fernandez, riding on a model from the previous year. However, next season, both Fernandez and Ogura will be equipped with the most recent 2025-spec RS-GPs.
Fernandez remains the sole rider on an Aprilia as Oliveira departs, with the factory team introducing a completely new duo of Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi.
