**Sergio Garcia Eyes Moto2 Glory Amid MotoGP Setbacks: “I Had Offers, But…”**
Moto2 championship frontrunner Sergio Garcia revealed, "I received offers to join MotoGP, but…"
He expressed his dissatisfaction with not being a MotoGP rider and stated, "My aim for the next year is to clinch the championship title and make a direct transition to MotoGP."
Should Sergio Garcia maintain his lead in the Moto2 rankings, he will follow in the footsteps of Tito Rabat (2014) and Johann Zarco (2015) by opting to defend his championship title instead of progressing directly to MotoGP.
As Ai Ogura, Fermin Aldeguer, and likely Somkiat Chantra are set to advance to the premier class in 2025, Garcia has been confirmed to stay with the MT Helmets-MSi team.
The Spanish rider mentioned that he received proposals to join MotoGP next season from Pramac Yamaha and Trackhouse Aprilia. However, these plans did not materialize. He explained, “It wasn’t a choice made by me or the teams.”
Speaking to MotoGP.pl, Garcia shared, “I received proposals from two different motorcycle companies this year, but for various reasons, I couldn’t accept them. Despite that, I’m thrilled because getting offers from MotoGP teams has always been a dream of mine.”
He mentioned that he had received proposals from Pramac Yamaha, Aprilia, and Trackhouse. He questioned why he couldn't join them, noting that the decision wasn't up to him or the teams. He expressed satisfaction in having received offers, though his statement was somewhat enigmatic.
Rather, Garcia will remain in the Moto2 category for a third consecutive season. If he secures the championship this year, he will aim to follow in Zarco’s footsteps by becoming a two-time Moto2 champion.
Garcia expressed his happiness about remaining with his Boscoscuro-supported Moto2 team for another year. This team assumed the Moto2 grid spots previously held by the Pons team this season.
"My objective for this season was to advance to MotoGP, but I wasn't able to achieve that. I believe that for next season, I'm with the best team to make a move to the top-tier class by 2026."
A Moto2 racer expressed disappointment about not being in MotoGP. He stated that his aim for the upcoming year is to clinch the championship title and advance straight to MotoGP. He also conveyed his confidence in accomplishing these objectives next year.
Pramac has not yet revealed the names of the riders for its upcoming Yamaha team. However, Miguel Oliveira and Jack Miller are rumored to be the ones who will handle the factory-spec M1 bikes. Meanwhile, Ogura has been officially announced to join Raul Fernandez at Trackhouse.
Garcia enters the Aragon race this weekend holding a 20-point advantage over his teammate Ogura, who had to pull out of the recent Austrian race because of an injury to his right hand.
