Rossi Returns to Track in Private Misano Test, Quartararo Highlights Yamaha’s Grip Issue Amidst MotoGP Teams’ Mid-Season Tune-up

Motorcycle racing icon Valentino Rossi participated in a closed-door Misano test this week, where he completed several laps aboard his Yamaha Superbike.
Several MotoGP teams conducted private in-season tests at the Italian circuit.

Yamaha had its racing team present, utilizing the test allowances provided to them by the existing rules.
The company from Japan also revealed that former MotoGP competitor Andrea Dovizioso will take over for Cal Crutchlow in the upcoming test, since the British rider is still recuperating from issues related to a recent surgical procedure.
Honda participated alongside Joan Mir and Luca Marini.
Located near the Misano track, Rossi took advantage of the chance to complete several laps on his Yamaha R1, marked with his iconic #46.
The VR46 Academy often holds its training sessions at this location, where Valentino Rossi was accompanied by the current leader in MotoGP standings, Francesco Bagnaia, along with Marco Bezzecchi and Franco Morbidelli. All of them were seen riding Ducati Panigal V4S motorcycles.
Ducati enlisted Michele Pirro to rack up some laps on its Desmosedici at the Emilia Romagna track, set to be the venue for two grand prix events in September after the Kazakhstan GP was called off.
KTM conducted test sessions featuring Dani Pedrosa, and Pedro Acosta was involved in testing for WP Suspension aboard a Moto2 motorcycle, a task he recently undertook at the Red Bull Ring as well.
Manuel Gonzalez and Albert Arenas, competing in Moto2, participated in the race as well.
Following the test, Fabio Quartararo remarked, "Completed the Misano test. Spent several days attempting to comprehend and enhance the motorcycle's performance."

MotoGP is set to make its comeback at Misano during the weekend spanning from September 6th to 8th, with a scheduled official testing session on the Monday immediately following the San Marino Grand Prix.
The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix is set to take place from September 20th to 22nd, signifying the event's return for the first time since the pandemic-impacted seasons of 2020 and 2021.
