Revving Up Optimism: Luca Marini Celebrates Best Bike Performance with Repsol Honda Ahead of Indonesia GP
Luca Marini: "The motorcycle is performing better than ever since I began"
Luca Marini finally shares a positive update on Repsol Honda.
Luca Marini asserts that his Honda is in the "optimal condition" since he became part of the team.
Marini's first year with Honda has largely been disappointing, as he didn't earn his first point in the 2024 MotoGP season until the ninth round, benefiting from tyre pressure penalties handed to three other competitors.
However, both official Honda racers experienced a rare positive moment at Misano last week.
Joan Mir secured the 11th position, while Marini came in 12th, following their successful passes on KTM rider Jack Miller.
Both Repsol Honda riders achieved their best performance of the season.
Marini expressed his excitement about the upcoming trip to Mandalika in Indonesia this weekend.
"Honda's strong presence is evident whenever you visit."
"We've reached a great point, with recent races showing our improvement and progress. The bike is now performing better than ever since I began with Honda."
"I am eager to return to work, so having three consecutive races is a good thing for me."
"I have a fondness for Indonesia and I'm eager to discover the potential outcomes we can achieve with the RC213V."
Mir commented: "Getting on the plane feels great after achieving a better result. However, there is still work ahead to reach the level that both Honda and I are capable of."
"However, this is just the beginning, and we need to secure our position in the upcoming competitions."
"In recent months, we've discovered something promising. Indonesia is an amazing destination, and Lombok is an extraordinary island to explore."
"There are numerous challenges to face, such as the intense heat and occasional rain. Let's make the most of it."
The Mandalika circuit evokes pleasant recollections for the latest rider on the Repsol Honda team.
Last season, Marini secured his inaugural pole position in MotoGP at this venue.
