Raul Fernandez Secures Future with Trackhouse Racing, Ready for MotoGP’s Second Half
Raul Fernandez expressed his satisfaction about racing with a sense of "security" after signing a new contract with Trackhouse Racing.
Raul Fernandez enters the latter part of the 2024 MotoGP season having secured a fresh two-year contract.
Last week, Fernandez renewed his contract with Trackhouse Racing, and now Moto2 championship hopeful Ai Ogura is expected to join him.
In anticipation of this weekend's British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Fernandez expressed his excitement, saying, "I'm eager to get to Silverstone and pleased to go there with a clear plan for my future."
"Knowing that I will remain with the team for the next two years was crucial for me to feel at ease and concentrate fully on the latter half of this year."
The weekend will be challenging as we have a significant amount of work ahead. Our primary task is to regain the sense of comfort and familiarity with the bike after not riding for the past three weeks.
"Additionally, we will be using a new bike and have limited practice time, so it's crucial to quickly grasp all aspects to be prepared for the races and ultimately enjoy the experience at Silverstone."
"Typically, this track suits our bike well, and I’m pleased to return with a sense of confidence."
Miguel Oliveira, who is Fernandez's team-mate, hasn't yet secured a contract for 2025. However, the ex-KTM rider is anticipated to join Pramac Yamaha.
Oliveira, whose highest achievement at Silverstone is finishing fourth, commented: "Last year, Silverstone was a positive experience for me with a strong performance that brought me close to the podium."
"After a good summer break, we return feeling rested and better prepared for the upcoming segment of the season."
"As a result, I'm excited about rejoining the team, testing out the improved Aprilia, and enjoying the experience in Great Britain."
