Raul Fernandez Confident Ahead of MotoGP’s Second Half After Securing New Deal with Trackhouse Racing
Raul Fernandez expresses relief and confidence, having secured his future with Trackhouse Racing.
Raul Fernandez enters the latter half of the 2024 MotoGP campaign sporting a freshly inked two-year contract.
Last week, Fernandez renewed his contract with Trackhouse Racing and will be teamed up with Moto2 championship hopeful Ai Ogura.
Before the upcoming British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Fernandez expressed his excitement about the event, stating, "I'm eager to get to Silverstone and pleased to have a definite plan for my future as we approach the race."
Securing my position on the team for the upcoming two years was crucial for my peace of mind and concentration as we move into the latter half of the year.
The upcoming weekend will be challenging as we have a significant amount of tasks ahead, primarily to regain our familiarity with the bike after a three-week hiatus from riding.
Additionally, we are transitioning to using a novel bicycle model and are faced with limited training opportunities. It's crucial for us to rapidly grasp all the necessary aspects to ensure we are prepared for the upcoming competitions, and subsequently, aim to relish our experience at Silverstone.
"Typically, this circuit suits our motorcycle well, and I'm pleased to return with confidence in my thoughts."
Miguel Oliveira, who previously rode for KTM and is currently Fernandez's colleague, has yet to finalize a contract for 2025. However, it's anticipated that he will ink a deal with Pramac Yamaha.
Oliveira, whose top finish is fourth place at Silverstone, remarked, "Last year, Silverstone provided me with a positive experience, yielding a strong finish and nearly reaching the podium."
"After enjoying a substantial summer hiatus, which provided ample opportunity for relaxation and improving our physical fitness, we return here, ready for the upcoming season segment."
"Hence, I'm excited about joining forces again with the team, hopping onto the upgraded Aprilia, and enjoying myself in Great Britain."
