Racing Legends Reunite: Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel to Represent Germany at 2025 Race of Champions in Sydney
Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel are slated to join forces again for the Race of Champions in 2025.
Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel are preparing to team up once more for the Race of Champions event scheduled for next year.
Schumacher and Vettel are set to compete for Germany in the Race of Champions Nations Cup.
Germany holds the record for the most wins in ROC history, having secured eight victories over the years.
Between 2007 and 2012, Vettel and Michael Schumacher remained undefeated at the Race of Champions.
In 2017, the ex-Aston Martin racer claimed victory together with Pascal Wehrlein.
Schumacher is currently competing for Alpine in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) as part of their motorsport endeavors.
In contrast, Vettel has been relishing his life post-retirement, far from the racing circuit.
The ROC event for the year 2025 is scheduled to be held in Sydney on March 7th and 8
Referring to the news, Schumacher expressed, "Australia is among my top destinations, and teaming up with Sebastian to represent Germany at ROC Sydney will undoubtedly be a lot of fun."
Following a second-place finish in the individual Race Of Champions (ROC) in Sweden in 2023, and a similar result in the ROC Nations Cup in Mexico alongside Seb, the aim now is to secure the top prize. This includes striving for victory in both the ROC Nations Cup on Friday evening and the individual Race Of Champions on Saturday.
"I am eagerly anticipating the chance to meet my fellow drivers and enjoy some time with them over the Race Of Champions weekend in Sydney. I am confident that we will all have an incredibly fun experience and deliver an amazing performance for the fans in Australia."
Vettel expressed his excitement about returning to the Race Of Champions and partnering once more with Mick. He mentioned his enthusiasm for competing at the former Olympic Stadium in Sydney, which promises to be an excellent location for the event. Calling Sydney one of the world's most stunning cities, Vettel praised Fredrik Johnsson and his team for choosing such an impressive site for the upcoming ROC installment.
"I am in favor of ROC's initiatives to move towards being an environmentally friendly motorsport event, a journey that began at ROC Sweden."
Every racer who has the privilege of taking part in the Race of Champions becomes enamored with the experience. It takes us back to the essence of why we began racing—sheer competition—and since everyone drives the same cars, there are no justifications.
"I am committed to assisting Germany in securing another ROC Nations Cup title alongside Mick on Friday evening. However, when it comes to competing for the overall victory on Saturday night, I won't be giving him any easy breaks. This is particularly true after he defeated me in the semifinals of the Individual ROC held in Sweden in 2023."
"At the Race of Champions, the competition is fierce as everyone aims for victory on the track, but it's equally important to deliver an entertaining experience for the spectators."
