Fabio Quartararo experienced multiple close calls with nearly being thrown off his bike during the Australian MotoGP.

Quartararo surged to the 10th position following an impressive opening lap, yet he dropped positions to Raul Fernandez, Johann Zarco, and Jack Miller.
During the last seven laps, Quartararo managed to pass the same three competitors, securing the ninth position, 18.757 seconds behind the leader.
"It's regrettable. During the initial laps, I experienced significant discomfort with the rear tire," he shared with TNT Sports.
"I came close to experiencing several highside incidents on numerous occasions."
It's important for us to grasp the reasons behind the extended time it requires to heat up the back tire.
"Subsequently, the final 15 laps left us feeling content due to our notably strong performance."
"We're aiming to discover the right method to adequately heat the tire."
In recent events, Quartararo has twice crossed the finish line slowly after exhausting his fuel supply, but fortunately, this issue did not recur at Phillip Island.
"The gasoline was fine! At this circuit, there's no problem with the fuel. We had sufficient amount to complete the race," he stated.
Quartararo subsequently mentioned, "My start was quite strong, yet regrettably, the initial segment of the race presented challenges.
"I experienced a few close calls with highside incidents, and I wasn't able to maintain the speed of the leaders."
"The latter half of the competition went very well, and I'm satisfied since the final ten laps were particularly enjoyable. I believe there are valuable lessons we can take away from this event."
Significant progress forward
Riding for Yamaha, Alex Rins began the race in ninth position but ended up in 13th place.
"Rins expressed contentment with our performance in today's race."
"We put in our utmost effort. However, I'm not entirely pleased with the outcome."
"Indeed, we made some enhancements to the bicycle by altering a few elements."
"The difference was slightly smaller than in the Sprint race, yet there's still work to be done.
"There are still a few issues that the team has recognized, and currently, we require time to address them."
Team leader Massimo Meregalli commented: "This weekend's race was challenging for us, yet we concluded it on a more positive note than how we began.
"Despite ongoing challenges, our cyclists showed improved competitiveness under today's drier and warmer weather conditions."
Fabio kicked off and concluded his race remarkably, and witnessing his battle and surpass were truly commendable.
"Alex matched Fabio's speed, also taking a positive stride forward today."
"Unfortunately, he lacked a crucial element towards the end that prevented him from participating in the fight."
"We will meticulously examine the data from today as we get ready for the upcoming Grand Prix in Thailand next week."
