Pedro Acosta’s Race Against Time: Stretched Ligaments Cast Doubt on Thailand GP Appearance
Update on Pedro Acosta: Ligament Stretch, Anticipation for His Return in Thailand
"We're all hoping for Pedro's quick recovery, with the expectation to have him back for the Thailand race next week."
After suffering shoulder injuries from a severe highside crash during the Sprint race, Pedro Acosta was unable to participate in Sunday's Australian MotoGP. He will have to undergo another medical evaluation if he wishes to take part in the upcoming Buriram round this weekend.
Preliminary examinations at the track found no broken bones, yet the GASGAS Tech3 newcomer was experiencing discomfort on Sunday morning and was deemed not fit to compete.

A subsequent announcement from Tech3 revealed that the young 20-year-old racer from Spain, who secured the pole position in the last Motegi race, is still experiencing discomfort because of 'strained ligaments':
Following his disqualification from the Australian Grand Prix earlier today, Pedro sought additional medical attention at a hospital in Melbourne for his injured left shoulder. Upon further inspection, it was affirmed that there is no break in the bone, offering a glimmer of hope.
When he fell while running, Pedro's shoulder hit the ground hard, leading to ligament strain and discomfort. The days leading up to the Thai Grand Prix will offer him a chance to recover, and his condition will be assessed again in Buriram.
In the last four races, encompassing the Sprints, Acosta has fallen behind by 11 points to his soon-to-be teammate Brad Binder in the battle for fifth position and the highest-ranked rider not on a Ducati in the world championship.
Tech3 team leader Nicolas Goyon expressed: "Our only wish is for Pedro to recover quickly, with the hope of having him back with us in Thailand the following week."
The final race of the season for VR46's Fabio di Giannantonio will take place in Buriram, as he needs to undergo surgery to repair a shoulder dislocation he suffered in Austria.
