Pedro Acosta’s Quest for Answers: KTM HQ Visit to Revitalize MotoGP Season
Pedro Acosta travels to KTM's headquarters with a "one-way ticket" to find answers
"I'm not seeking an excuse. I'm searching for the solution"
Pedro Acosta is set to spend a portion of his summer vacation at KTM's main office in Austria.
This season's leading MotoGP rider aims to learn more about the entire project and figure out why his bike's performance has declined in recent races.
Recently, he managed to take a well-earned trip to Ibiza with Jorge Martin, Aleix, and Pol Espargaro. However, he will soon need to refocus on professional affairs.
Acosta mentioned to Relevo that he has a ticket for a one-way journey, but does not possess a return ticket, for his visit to KTM's headquarters.
"We'll find out how long I'll be there, whether it's for days or weeks."
Communicating in person is always preferable. Regardless of how long I stay, whether it's a week or more, there are always fresh questions and tasks each day. Additionally, I take the time to meet with people.
Acosta made a sensational impact in the initial races of this year's MotoGP, being the sole newcomer in the lineup.
The Tech3 GASGAS racer secured top-three finishes in both Portugal and Texas, two of the initial three grand prix events.
However, his season has lost momentum due to retirements at Le Mans and Assen, along with not meeting the high expectations of winning in Jerez.
Aprilia has positioned itself as the main challenger to the leading Ducati team, even though Acosta continues to be KTM's top performer, surpassing Brad Binder.
Acosta commented that his Austrian upbringing instilled in him a mindset of constantly striving for improvement, which makes him believe that there is always room to get better in the championship.
“I don’t want an excuse; I want the answer.”
"Initially, I plan to meet everyone and observe the day's events to understand how things operate. By the end of the first day, I hope to have a clear grasp of the various roles, the leadership structure, and the reasons behind different actions."
"It's simple to criticize or ask for things when you don't understand their current state."
"I like to gather information and understand the reasons behind actions, as well as identify who holds the authority and who doesn't, in order to determine the best course of action."
"To understand the issue, you need to immerse yourself in it."
"I always desired to be in this place and my feelings remain unchanged. No one has forced me into a difficult situation."
"Now it's my opportunity to open the door and venture out independently."
