Paolo Pavesio to take over as managing director in 2025
Paolo Pavesio has been appointed to take over Lin Jarvis' role at Yamaha.
Starting on January 1, 2025, Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing
Before, he held the position of Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport division, leading to world championship victories in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio will take over from Jarvis, who has served as Yamaha's leader for 26 years and will soon step
Under Jarvis's leadership, Yamaha secured eight rider championships, six manufacturer championships, and seven team championships. He guided the company through its successful eras with Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, and also managed their latest triumph with Fabio Quartararo.
Even though Jarvis is stepping down from his role as managing director, he will continue to serve as a Senior Advisor to Yamaha.
Takahiro Sumi, who serves as the General Manager of Yamaha's Motor Sports Development Division, expressed gratitude to Lin for his 26 years of commitment and accomplishments, both personally and on behalf of Yamaha.
"His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience in the future."
Paolo Pavesio is set to take over the position of Managing Director from Lin. Pavesio, who has previously served as the Marketing and Motorsport Director at YME, has an impressive background, having led Yamaha teams to secure World Championship titles in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP.
"I am excited to have Paolo join YMR come January, and I believe that with his guidance, Yamaha will achieve the MotoGP success we are all aiming for."
