Paolo Pavesio to Succeed Lin Jarvis as Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director in 2025
Yamaha has announced that Paolo Pavesio will take over as managing director from Lin Jarvis in 2025.
Paolo Pavesio has taken over from Lin Jarvis at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
He formerly served as the Marketing and Motorsport Director at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport department that subsequently achieved world championships in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio is taking over from Jarvis, who has been the head of Yamaha for 26 years and will be stepping
Jarvis guided Yamaha to secure eight championships for riders, six for constructors, and seven for teams. He managed the peak periods of the Japanese company with stars like Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, and also their latest championship win with Fabio Quartararo.
Despite stepping down from his role as managing director, Jarvis will continue to serve Yamaha as a Senior Advisor.
“On a personal level and representing Yamaha, I want to express my gratitude to Lin for his commitment and accomplishments throughout the last 26 years," stated Takahiro Sumi, who serves as the General Manager of the Motor Sports Development Division.
"His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience in the future."
Paolo Pavesio is set to take over the position of Managing Director from Lin. Pavesio has an extensive background from his time at YME, where he served as the Marketing and Motorsport Director. During his tenure, he led Yamaha teams to secure World Championship titles in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP.
"I am eager to have Paolo join YMR in January, and I believe that with him at the helm, Yamaha can achieve the future success in MotoGP that we are all aiming for."
