Paolo Pavesio to take over as managing director in 2025
Paolo Pavesio has been appointed to take over Lin Jarvis' position at Yamaha.
Starting on January 1, 2025, Pavesio will take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
He used to serve as the Director of Marketing and Motorsport for Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport department, leading to world championship victories in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio is set to take over from Jarvis, who has led Yamaha for 26 years and will soon step down
Jarvis guided Yamaha to achieve eight rider championships, six manufacturer championships, and seven team championships. He managed the peak periods of the Japanese company with Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, along with their latest championship win with Fabio Quartararo.
Despite stepping down from his position as managing director, Jarvis will continue to serve Yamaha in the capacity of Senior Advisor.
Takahiro Sumi, who serves as the General Manager of the Motor Sports Development Division, expressed his gratitude towards Lin for his commitment and accomplishments over the last 26 years, both on a personal level and on behalf of Yamaha.
His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience in the future.
Paolo Pavesio is set to take over the position of Managing Director from Lin. Pavesio has extensive experience from his time at YME, where he led Yamaha teams to World Championship victories in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP as the Marketing and Motorsport Director.
"I am eager to have Paolo join YMR in January, and with his leadership, I believe Yamaha can achieve the future success in MotoGP that we are all aiming for."
