Norris’ Frightening Pace Shakes Red Bull: Rosberg’s Take on Singapore GP as Verstappen Clings to Title Hopes
Lando Norris' Speed Might Intimidate Red Bull, Key Stat Revealed
Nico Rosberg Reviews F1 Singapore Grand Prix
Max Verstappen is poised to secure the F1 championship by consistently finishing in second place, just behind Lando Norris, in all the remaining races of the season.
Verstappen maintains a 52-point advantage at the top of the championship standings, even though Norris was the standout performer at the F1 Singapore Grand Prix.
Yet, despite the statistics, Norris appears more probable to secure victories in all the upcoming races of the year compared to Verstappen's chances of consistently finishing right behind him.
"Nico Rosberg commented on Sky Sports that it was primarily about the performance and the pace on the day, even more than the victory itself."
"This will likely instill fear in Red Bull."
Given the current pace, it's feasible for Lando to secure victories in the upcoming races before the year concludes.
"It's incredibly challenging for Max to secure a runner-up position."
McLaren has demonstrated they currently have the quickest vehicle in F1, following yet another commanding performance.
There are ongoing debates regarding the decision not to prioritize Norris as their leading driver from an earlier point in the season to enhance his chances of winning the championship.
Rosberg counters, "It's too early to put Oscar Piastri at a disadvantage. He's still in contention for the championship, and mathematically, he still has a chance if circumstances favor him.
"At a certain juncture, they'll implement directives for the team."
Jamie Chadwick commented on Piastri, who finished in the top three in Singapore, stating, “There's a delicate balance between assisting Lando and feeling relegated to a secondary role.
"McLaren must avoid placing him in a position where he feels inferior to Lando, as that's not the case."
McLaren's chief, Zak Brown, reviewed the race saying, "There were a few narrow escapes. Lando mentioned to me in parc ferme, 'did you notice I collided with the wall?' To which I replied, 'yes, on several occasions…'"
"Such an incredible journey. Such an incredible racing vehicle that the team at McLaren, both the men and women, have assembled."
"Oscar's driving was exceptional, making it nearly an ideal weekend."
Brown commented on McLaren's recent superiority over Red Bull, stating, "All the elements have aligned. The car's development has progressed significantly.
"We have gained significant traction, yet we're aware of how swiftly dynamics can shift in this game."
