Lando Norris led the rankings in the second practice session of the Singapore Grand Prix, with George Russell coming into contact with the barriers towards the end.
Norris led the pack with a time of 1 minute and 30.727 seconds, narrowly outpacing Charles Leclerc by less than a tenth of a second.
Similar to the previous race in Azerbaijan, it seems the main competition is unfolding between McLaren and Ferrari.
Russell experienced a tense moment towards the end of the race, making heavy contact with the barrier at Turn 8.
Russell's Mercedes sustained minor damage, allowing him to reverse away from the barrier and make his way back to the pit lane, albeit without a front wing.
Carlos Sainz secured the third spot overall in the alternate Ferrari, trailing the leading pair by 0.5 seconds with their remarkable speed.

Leclerc experienced a significant incident while clocking his quickest lap, as he grazed the barrier when exiting Turn 14. Importantly, it appears his vehicle emerged without any damage.

Albon's time as the quickest was brief, as Leclerc set a new record with a lap of 1 minute and 31.665 seconds, surpassing his earlier performance from FP1.
Leclerc leads his Ferrari colleague Sainz by a margin of 0.265 seconds, while Albon falls to third place, trailing by half a second.

Verstappen stated, "I'm lacking traction at the front and rear when going slow."
Hamilton communicated, saying, "I'm lacking rear grip, buddy."
Currently, they occupy the 15th and 18th positions, respectively.

Early on, Leclerc sets the pace as FP1's quickest.
The Ferrari driver clocks in at 1 minute, 32.788 seconds, putting him 0.820 seconds ahead of McLaren's Norris.

McLaren has officially announced:
"While our rear wing for the Baku race adheres to the rules and successfully meets all FIA bending tests, McLaren has voluntarily proposed making slight modifications to the wing after discussions with the FIA.
"Additionally, it's anticipated that the FIA will engage in comparable discussions with other teams regarding the adherence of their rear wings to regulations."
The next practice round scheduled for this Friday afternoon will commence at 2pm UK time, which is in 20 minutes.

Leclerc and Norris alternated leading positions on the leaderboard, following their first attempts which were done on hard and medium tires, correspondingly.
Following a mistake in the last segment during his initial attempt on soft tires, which he bluntly criticized as "terrible" over the team radio, Leclerc redeemed himself by surging to the front with a time of 1 minute and 31.763 seconds.
Leclerc edged out Norris by just under 0.1 seconds, with his Ferrari gaining the upper hand in the last two sectors of the lap.
Carlos Sainz's Ferrari secured the third spot, finishing just shy of two-tenths behind Leclerc's pace.
